Re: Religious noise, industrial, and related genres

I was massively disappointed that the Blod on Discreet was not THE Blod, as in the one on Segerhuva etc.

This might be of interest too, using field recordings from a religious camp/party on a Finnish island:

Re: WHITE CENTIPEDE NOISE PODCAST

And about the future development of harsh noise, it's like Oskar said, as long as the sound sources get the same FX pedal treatment, it will all sound pretty much the same. Which I don't mind one bit, I think it should be acknowledged that there is a "traditional"/"classic" harsh...

Re: WHITE CENTIPEDE NOISE PODCAST

There should be a topic here dealing with the names dropped in each episode. That's something the listeners/viewers could/should participate in. Some kind soul has already made a discogs list of all the top fives. Speaking of those, I didn't get the North Carolina album title Steve Underwood mention...

Re: HNW

Sven Kay's A wall of text zine was great, I'm still hoping there'll be a 2nd issue. I only heard about this zine after the fact, where was it made available? Any lingering copies of it somewhere? I'm still really disappointed to have missed out on it. I think I got it through his website, svenkay.com

Why you don't like HNW? Great opening line! 😃 I love some hnw every now & then. Faves off the top of my head: Vomir, Female Harakiri, Akuochi-onna, Opaque, Milky clouds, some Richard Ramirez projects (esp. Werewolf Jerusalem). Sven Kay's A wall of text zine was great, I'm still hoping there'll ...

Re: Best of Macronympha

I've read now and then how the CD reissue on Trash Ritual had a flat sound sort of, but that version went out the door the same week I stumbled upon this, six years ago. Would be interesting to compare them back to back though. I've heard the exact opposite of this, which is why I have been relucta...

Re: Merzbow Reissue Wishlist

The LP reissues are really nice and I do but the ones that I don’t already have. But. Some of them would be better in the original CD format. Putting them on an LP breaks up from the original tracks. Would definitely like CD reissues of ones originally on CD. What to reissue? 90’s ones that were ha...

Re: WHITE CENTIPEDE NOISE PODCAST

Would be great to get the guests top5 lists online somewhere. Possibly here?
Also links to any websites etc. discussed in the podcasts.
F.e. where can I find the podcast with Jason Kushner talking about Endo?

Re: Regional Sound

Maybe an obvious opinion a lot of regional sound trends have a lot to do with live activities\exposure through local record stores. Younger generations are much more likely to be exposed to what's happening locally, and in turn become inspired by what they see\hear and start their own projects In F...

He never played or released too much compared to others and is probably better known for his uniquely partici...

The only things that I pretty much always use are a Ibanez digital delay and a Dod FX-52 fuzz. Everything else changes. All editing and post-production on an ancient version of Sound Forge and Vegas. Synthwise, I have an Elmyra, Dronething and a Microkorg, plus some synth apps (Moog model D and some...

And there's no rush in getting your first release out. The world will wait. John Wiese once said "don't release your first recordings", I think that's very good advice.

Not attaching pics (surely that eats up forum resources?) That's a good point. Admins, are we encouraged to go crazy with pics, or should it be reserved for special occasions? I was ridiculously active on the old Southern Lord-forum and attachments were a big no-no on there as they ate up the bandw...

I recognize some folks by their usernames but I think introductions are in order. I'm Haare, fortysomething, been listening to and making noise since the late 90's.
