Re: MANIAC PURGE 2024: Lots of sick noise for sale/trade!

Hi, I made a new doc with a buncha stuff that I have available for trade or sale (there are a few things that I'd greatly prefer a trade for, but we can figure it out). First half is what I've got available, which I'll be updating gradually as I listen through stuff. Second half is a bunch of stuff ...

Re: Mysterious/Anonymous Projects

Totally enamored might be a stretch, but long term big fan of Zone Nord and The New Blockaders. Hints here and there as to who they are, but I don't think they've ever been completely outed? Haven't dug much myself, not sure I want to know too much. The secrecy has definitely served both projects. ...

Re: Best of Macronympha

There are times when I'll put on an MSNP tape and wonder if I really need to listen to anyone else's noise. In fact, I asked myself that exact question today when listening through OVMN's S/T tape. The answer, of course, is yes, I definitely need to listen to lots of noise from tons of different art...

Re: The Haters as home listening experience.

Personal favorite has to be Future Cheers, it’s been reissued twice that I’m aware of and I think I like the sonic quality of the Troniks/Helicopter CD the best of all. I’d definitely seek out These Things Happen Volumes 1&2 CDs everything about this collection is superb, if someone needed a ju...

Re: Comic Books, Graphic Novels, Trades, etc.

For more contemporary stuff (and by contemporary, I guess I mean like 12 years ago), Scott Snyder's Detective Comics/Batman run was really interesting. It wasn't totally batshit over the edge like Morrison's run, but Snyder definitely pumped some fresh air into it.

Re: What Makes for a Good Collaboration?

I've got some scattered thoughts on collaboration based on personal experience. For more improvised/in-person collaborations with time constraints, I think it helps for each player to start jamming and then gradually strip down their setup as much as possible and figure out a division of labor that ...

Also Spiral Honey.
Yeah, these are both incredible. Considering that there seem to be at least one or two reissues per month lately, reissues for these two key releases must be on the horizon.

Perhaps more simply put: Transitioning from listening to noise for the sake of saying you listen to noise, to listening to noise for the sake of noise.
Haha, I'm not sure that there's any benefit whatsoever in telling people you listen to noise.

Re: Moving beyond "noise for noise's sake"

When a noise artist gets to that singular place where I don't immediately recognize what gear and/or software they're using to make it, that's the sweet spot where their "noise for noise's sake" can also be timeless gold. However, I'm feeling insane fatigue from the following: 1. Shit that...

The Haters as home listening experience.

OK, so this post is mostly for my own selfish purposes, but I was hoping some folks could list their three favorite Haters releases WITH little descriptions of what they love about them. I only have a few things myself—Mind The Gap, Merzbow & The Haters, and In The Shade Of Fire (which I listene...

Re: Merzbow Reissue Wishlist

I need some clarification this Bubble. The artist is changing the original imagery or meaning behind the piece and selling it as a reissue? Not so much "changing the meaning," but removing tracks that have Reiko A on them and replacing them with other shit, and—in the case of Metalvelodro...

Re: Merzbow Reissue Wishlist

I second the frustration with all the endless compromises and "creative tweaks" that go into most Merzbow collections and reissues, by the way. Remixes and recontextualuzations are nice as extras, but not as the only attraction where uncollected/harder-to-get stuff is concerned. Yeah, I m...

New here and was going through older posts. This one seems right up my alley. Discogs says I have 76 The Rita releases in my collection but I really don’t know how accurate that one is. I’d like to thank New Forces for that re-issue of Magazine. Still hoping to grab an original tape sometime but th...

Well hello. For the first time, I’m making the first cassette from Drunk Transaction publicly available. Re: Hospital Productions

Due to the impossibly sprawling nature of Dom's curation and the absurd volume of releases they've done, I set a few rules when putting this list together to help narrow shit down a bit: 1. No reissues. 2. No Dom releases (except a comp he's on). 3. I'm only looking at noise releases, so no black me...
