Re: Noise Heads / Musicians
I played in bands when I was younger. I can play several instruments traditionally. Anymore, it mostly bores the crap out of me to play. I used to be much better at traditional instruments and playing but as I mentioned, it bores me to play the same thing over and over so I’m not as good / practiced...

Re: Kosmiche Noise
Noisteria Emission is by intent exactly what I think you are describing. It’s very inspired by cosmic psychedelic music, early electronic “sci-fi sounds” and noise. Everything is a free download except for one. Physical releases are mostly sold out.

Re: Intentional clipping in pop music
That was a pretty cool sound in that Marty Robbins song. Even better if it was actually a messed up track that worked.

Re: Abstract/Weird/Outer edges
I have to recommend Mostly Mayo as a label. He definitely deals in the different. Sometimes a release will be familiar and sometimes they are a “what the hell is this and why do I love it so much release”! I’ve worked with him twice and he’s a great person to work with and support

Re: The Japanese - American Noise Treaty
I haven’t listened to that in years. I’ll have to pull it out. I know around the time it came out I was super infatuated with Japanese noise and really didn’t give the US side a fair chance. So from that perspective, definitely the Japanese side. I’ll be curious about what I think today because I ha...

Re: Music documentaries/movies
Still haven't watched Sisters With Transistors! I had a pass to an online fest it was screening at and didn't fit it in. Crave now has it and I'm eager to get to it ASAP. I can’t recommend Sisters With Transistors enough. If you like pioneers and experimental music you will love it. I learned a lot...

Re: Merzbow Reissue Wishlist
The LP reissues are really nice and I do but the ones that I don’t already have. But. Some of them would be better in the original CD format. Putting them on an LP breaks up from the original tracks. Would definitely like CD reissues of ones originally on CD. What to reissue? 90’s ones that were har...

Re: Pets
We have a noise cat and a reef tank. I love sea life but not much of that in Ohio so I brought it to me. Amazing creatures.

Re: Opinions on digital subscriptions to labels
I don’t have much interest in that. I’ve always tended to lose files or disorganize them away. I have a fair amount of free downloads and some paid. In your situation I see the appeal. I listen to a lot of music in my car and CDs work well for me

Re: medium of releases
It doesn’t matter much to me so long as it’s not a download or stream. I always lose download files for some reason and if I’m paying for music, which I do, a lot, it’s going to be something physical unless it’s download only. Not a fan of streaming. I like CDs a lot because I listen to a lot of mus...

Re: Modular Noise
@parasitenurse I got to play a Cloud Terrarium again. Like a morphing terrarium deluxe. It covers some territory closer to the PH that you would probably like. If you can find the morphing for a good price it’s worth it. If they stay high, it’s probably worth saving the extra for the cloud terrarium...

Re: Modular Noise
Morphing terrarium are stupidly expensive right now on Reverb…. Cloud terrarium aren’t that much more…. A forum classified may have more reasonable prices. So much used stuff is insanely over priced right now.

Re: Self Releasing/Starting Labels
With j cards, I had to mess around with the layout and print / cut to check fit several times. Once I got it right, I used that copy as a template for future covers. I recently went to GIMP from a lite version of photoshop that’s not supported on my computer with the new os update. I had to increase...

Lots of good wavetable oscillators out there. Here’s my thoughts on the ones I’ve used, and of course there are tons more out there. My favorite I’ve ever used is the Hertz Donut 3. Just amazing. Having dual is huge. But you know that. I’ve had a Hertz Donut 1 and it was ok. I sold it and don’t miss...

Re: Differentiating Projects
Yeah that is my concern too with keeping the same name for different sounding albums. Then as you said all I release can be streamed before buying so people know what to expect. Yeah, streaming makes it easy. Sometimes I have a hard time of keeping it at just two! I’ll get some crazy idea that does...

Re: Differentiating Projects
I have two ongoing projects. I differentiate by sound and type(s) of equipment used. One has a pretty consistent sound and a listener pretty much knows what they will get from it. The other project is more broad sounding. As a listener I like some variation and evolution of an artist but if somethin...

2hp burst generator is small, inexpensive and does the job. If you want simple, check that one out. I had one but ended up selling it because I had another module that could do burst but less controlled though (wogglebug v1)

Re: Collection Storage / Organization / Display
Pretty much all my stuff is alphabetical now. My records are in milk crate type containers. Tapes are mostly in a book case. I have two wall hangers and a couple of the old three drawer tape holders. CDs are all in book cases. My biggest annoyance is that as I add new stuff I run out of empty space ...

I haven’t heard the most recent Unsane album but is seems like they have consistently delivered great stuff since the beginning.

Haha, I know. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the Cows. Saw Unsane several times too. Jesus Lizard always seemed to be coming through too.
