Re: BEAT SHIT
The newest African Imperial Wizard is also good - to me it sounds like something which could be on Hyperdub or Planet Mu.

https://ironlungrecords.bandcamp.com/album/vanity-of-life-lp-lungs-098-2 Really love this one - lots of drum machines, Chrome-esque minimal industrial. "A posthumous release for people who like early industrial music made by punks like Missing Foundation, Factrix and Minimal Man" Loved al...

Coil & Gee Vaucher 'Disobedients' exhibition opens in Brighton on September 22nd - https://nohawkers.com/upcoming-exhibitions 'Scatology, 'Horse Rotorvator' and 'Love's Secret Domain' are a kind of perfect trilogy in my mind, but all eras of the band are good. What is the deal with reissues on, ...

Re: True Crime Electronics (Slogun, Deathpile, Fistfuck etc.)
Without trying to sound like a contrarian or opening up a debate, I have to confess that I've never been as impressed by G.R. as so many others seem to be. There's not too much to nitpick beyond admitting that the vocal delivery always struck me as being too contrived and hammy for my liking. I wis...

Rodger Stella 'foucault zombie' is an album which made a strong impression on me when it was released and it has held up well over the years.
Scorching sci-fi electronics and disorienting psychedelia. I don't think I've heard anything else quite like it.

Re: Record shops in London, UK
Any adult bookstores in London that would still carry old magazines? I know Rambooks but it is open only on Tuesdays and Fridays (I will arrive on Friday and leave Tuesday morning). Mainly interested in '90s magazines like Club International, Score, Swank, Fox, Big Ones, etc and also those sturdy s...

Danny Brown & JPEGMAFIA 'scaring the hoes' album will keep me occupied for a long time to come. Really wild, rough and disorienting production on this one.

Re: noise as soundtrack on films?
This piece on the soundtrack to Pusher 3 is basically a noise loop, used very effectively in the film to show mounting pressure and mental decline:

Also relevant is the howard shore soundtrack to videodrome!

Re: Canadian noise in decades past
I really like the Tunnel Canary output streamable online and would welcome any resissues of their material, if such a thing is possible. Very harsh and piercing guitar noise with fierce shrieking vocals. No real comparison I can think of, but perhaps its what you would get if you mixed Harry Pussy w...

Re: Where do I start with Bloodyminded?
The actual best place to start is probably the 'Mothercare' CD single. It's three tracks in less than 90 seconds, so you'll get an impression of the sound/vibe/content very quickly. The 'West/Mantra' single is longer but also a good representation of their sound. 'Trophy' is the one I return to most...

Re: RAP SHIT
Pusha T's new album is very good.
This year has been strong for hip hop and I've enjoyed the albums from Sosmula, Vince Staples, Denzel Curry and Curren$y.
I also liked the Nas and Boldy James albums from late last year.
Blade Brown and K Trap 'joints' is a good tape for anyone who likes UK drill.

Re: WHITE CENTIPEDE NOISE PODCAST
In writing this I reminded myself of this review blog https://1208fullerave.blogspot.com - It seems like this person was active up until about the start of this year, which maybe means they're just in the midst of some downtime. Does anyone know who this is? I believe I have had email contact with ...

Re: Pathways to Noise / Place and Time
Being 12 or 13 and hearing Nirvana 'endless, nameless' (b-side to 'come as you are' and hidden track on some pressings of 'nervermind'). Chaotic energy, wild sound and lots of feedback. It sounded like they were actually destroying their instruments and recording it. I was kind of right: https://www...
