This is one of the greatest noisecore releases IMO. The editing makes it an insane 1000mph ride.

Re: Hospital/NWN Fest in Osaka / Machine Parts in Tokyo
What is Dom's role in Departure Chandelier? Listening to the albums I just naturally assumed he did vocals, but watching the videos clearly prove otherwise. He plays guitar. I don't know how many members of the live line-up appear on the recordings but in Osaka he was playing guitar, the only one w...

Re: Hospital/NWN Fest in Osaka / Machine Parts in Tokyo
What a trip! Out of my 9 full days in Japan I went for gigs on 5 and they kinda already start bleeding into each other in my mind. All the beers make it even more so. The start of the trip was promising, slightly jetlagged (I tried to prepare and adjust beforehand) arriving at my hotel and finding o...

Any schedule available for the Yokohama show? My hotel is not too close and the check-in is from 6pm to midnight which I feel might be pretty much the time of the event.

One of the best albums ever in any genre. Perfect amalgamation of dark ambient and industrial.

Re: old world problems
Of course now that I said I've never seen them for sale anywhere The Cherry Point tape is actually available on Discogs. But for $15 plus shipping to Europe (like $25?) plus the possible tax and customs fees, I don't think I want to pay that for a 1-minute tape :)

Re: old world problems
I picked up some blank 30 second tapes Hahaha, the idea of a 30 second tape blows my mind! SRR (Self Released Records) had a tape series in 2004-2005 called Waste Of Plastic. It was all 1-minute tapes. It had tapes from well-known names like The Rita, Ahlzagailzehguh, The Haters and Pedestrian Depo...

Any idea how to get around Osaka after midnight? The metro runs from 5am until midnight. I am staying closer to the NWN/Hospital fest location so it is not exactly a walking distance.

New round of Kinky Musik Institute tapes began in 1993, with aforementioned Autopsy Soundtracks and Tekhnodrug being highlights from the Institute's year. First KMI CDs Metal Dysplasia and The Rust (both 1996) may represent his most well-known sound -- gloriously tape-corroded explosions of steel m...

Been slowly making my way through the new oral history of NoMeansNo ( From Obscurity to Oblivion ) and revisited Sex Mad for the first time in I don't know how long. I was blown away. What a great record. Wrong and 0+2=1 are also great records. I still listen to those three "regularly" (s...

Re: Film Discussion / Now Watching
Last weekend I got a pile of DVDRs from a friend and they seem to be mostly '70s smut. So far I have watched Babyface '70s porn about a guy who becomes a male prostitute after an incident with a minor. Plenty of sex but not too exciting. At least it has Joey Silvera who is always good. Hardgore Kind...

Re: Merzbow Reissue Wishlist
I guess what is interesting to me about the new boxsets, at least the smaller ones, is that they sounded as though they each are representative of a swath of releases from a specific time period, which, to me, would at least give whatever is on them---filler or otherwise---some historical context/v...

No Custodian?! That's a shame. Last year it looked like there is no way I could make it to Japan in April but now it looks like there is a small chance. Trying all I can to make it work as this and the Hospital fest look pretty damn epic!

Besides, hasn't The Rita always been related to fine/high concept art? I recall in the podcast interview that he did a lot of installation art before turning to noise? Re: 30.9. Pyöräpaja, Turku: Ahola & Silander, Fricsvel, Zherbin, Hippycrack, Atte Häkkinen
It was great. Ahola & Silander and Fricsvel were the reasons I drove about 2 hours to the show and they both delivered. The other three artists were a nice addition if nothing truly grasping, varying from semi-Masonna-esque screaming of Atte Häkkinen to more typical harsh noise of Hippycrack to ...

Now with a functioning tape deck I have continued my journey through the tapes I have bought in the last 1.5 years or so but haven't heard before. Today it was: Sunk Cost - Wave Of Mutilation (Dada Drumming) Absolutely fantastic tape! It is criminal that this is limited to 80 copies. One hour of rum...

New Tomb Mold FUCKS hard. Reminiscent of "Human" era Death with some Atheist touches. Wow. Yes. Really solid and the bass playing fucking slaps. New Blood Incantation single also fucking rips! One DM tune and one synth piece. Gotta get that 12"!!!!!! I liked the earlier Tomb Mold stu...

Not Finnish but I really really really loved KRIGSHOT - I think they shared members with Nasum IIRC - those two LPs and two 7"s on Sound Pollution are great. I never heard the last LP from 2006 tho. You're correct, Krigshot and Nasum do/did share members. That 2006 album wasn't up to the same ...

Re: Cut Up
The reason that I asked, is that a literal "cut-up" seems impossible to perform in a live setting---i.e. you can't take a tape, cut it up, paste it together, and play at the same time (I know there is probably some exception, somewhere... haha) What I gather is that the term "cut-up&...
