Re: Extreme metal (death/black/etc)
New Tomb Mold FUCKS hard. Reminiscent of "Human" era Death with some Atheist touches. Wow. Yes. Really solid and the bass playing fucking slaps. New Blood Incantation single also fucking rips! One DM tune and one synth piece. Gotta get that 12"!!!!!! I liked the earlier Tomb Mold stu...

Not Finnish but I really really really loved KRIGSHOT - I think they shared members with Nasum IIRC - those two LPs and two 7"s on Sound Pollution are great. I never heard the last LP from 2006 tho. You're correct, Krigshot and Nasum do/did share members. That 2006 album wasn't up to the same ...

I am familiar with only a fraction of his works but I'd call myself a fan. Of course Pan(a)Sonic was/is great but he released several excellent solo albums as well. Kilo (2013) is the one I am most familiar with. Pleasant industrial percussion and rhythms mixed with material ranging from dark ambien...

T.E.F./Bastard Noise - Astronomical Sound Images (Troniks) This is a crusher. There is so much peace to be found within these chaotic composition. I caught myself in a trance during some of the most insane T.E.F. cut-ups around here. This is the kind of work I look for in a collaboration between 2 ...

Re: Cut Up
The reason that I asked, is that a literal "cut-up" seems impossible to perform in a live setting---i.e. you can't take a tape, cut it up, paste it together, and play at the same time (I know there is probably some exception, somewhere... haha) What I gather is that the term "cut-up&...

BREAKING THE WILL - Mortal Terrain Incendiary CD (New Forces, 2020) Stuck my hand in the towering pile of unlistened CDs and randomly picked this out. Now, besides maybe a compilation track, the only BTW I had heard prior to this was the Choosing Death CD (Terror & NArcolepsia, 2015). My memory...

Re: Underrated and under hyped projects
The Swedish project BAD KHARMA is probably most known for his collabs with Marhaug in the 2000's and his ambient work. But this 4xCS box, https://www.discogs.com/release/1166135-Bad-Kharma-96-98, contains some seriously great inventive tape loop-based harsh noise. Both old americanoise and Vivenza:...

Re: Dream gear and future innovations
to be honest, i would love just every pedal/effect to have connections that line up so they are easy to link together instead of having cable spaghetti, but i know this is just a dream. Alesis had their ModFX series where all effects had RS232 ports, input on one side, output on the other. You can ...

Richard Ramirez - Vulgar Tastes A rather standard Ramirez fare, not his best, not his worst. Plenty of cock up the ass. Drug Age - Dyslexic Action Missed the cassette edition 10 years ago but luckily this was reissued. Solid harsh noise. Daniel Menche - Sleeper Always been a big fan of Daniel Mench...

Re: Record shops in London, UK
Any adult bookstores in London that would still carry old magazines? I know Rambooks but it is open only on Tuesdays and Fridays (I will arrive on Friday and leave Tuesday morning). Mainly interested in '90s magazines like Club International, Score, Swank, Fox, Big Ones, etc and also those sturdy sm...

I'm Abe, 43, been into noise since about 2001, I started the harshnoise project Thirteen Fingers about 2003 and retired it in 2016. I've been doing a cut-up project under Mason since then in fits and starts. I'm really happy that this forum is getting more active. Social media is useless for anythi...

Der Eisenrost - Armored Weapon Tetsuo soundtrack live. Kinda. Rudolf Eb.er/Dave Phillips/Masonna - Arschloch-Onna Eb.er and Phillips goofing around, laughing, and Masonna providing harsh blasts in between. 666 Volt Battery Noise - Audio Super-Predator Great harsh noise. I have a feeling that 666VBN...

I was going to post this in the "Mourning . . . " thread, but how do I mourn the loss of something I never heard? OVMN.jpg I got this from Macro Joe, but I never did think a cd wrapped in red duct tape was going to be playable. It's OVMN something or other. Also, I've never actually heard...

NBDY - Woods & Wires Great cut-up noise. BUT! I have the same issue with this that I had with Kazumoto Endo's Keiyo, there are too many silent gaps that are way too long. Silence can be a powerful tool and can be used like sound but 30 secs of silence in the middle of a track? Ruins it for me. ...

Jake Vida is Canadian as well. He released harsh noise under his own name and also as Remlap which was more in the HNW territory. He also ran Pointless Blank Rec.

Re: Incapacitants - Oxen Man's Uneasiness
When I heard the new album is something like Zouvneree I had my doubts if I would like this new one. I did not like Zouvneree much. They were using some effect(s) that I did not like (no idea what that/those might have been). So hearing the new one was kind of a positive surprise. No, there were no ...

Proof Of The Shooting - Demonstrative Evidence 4 CDs full of varied '90s noise. Sometimes harsh, sometimes pretty spacious, but always interesting. Recently got Reslayer, Electric Field In Parallel, Threshold and Mechanical Abstraction and they are all great harsh noise/noisecore. Also got the recent Blear reissue which is different but no less great. 2022 was a fantastic year for Sissy Spacek.

I haven't been following the Agathocles release churn for some years, but I was paying attention back when they released From Grey ....... To Black . I'm sure there is some incredibly mundane explanation behind the decision to release what sounds like some of Jan's solo bedroom stuff as an Agathocl...
