Re: Vertical pedalboard performance setups.
I wish they made noise tables to be higher. Would like to end my performance art piece - Tall Man at Small Table - sometime this lifetime.

Re: Dream gear and future innovations
Unfortunately I don’t and Max from Death Kneel has mine now. The thing that looks like a hot plate next to the red cup on the right of photo is the prototype. http://www.returntothepit.com/rttppics/the_endless_blockade046_551312.jpg Lousy pic but same tour, right hand on the Torture Wheel prototype....

Re: Dream gear and future innovations
once saw a pedal/noise maker called the torture wheel. think it was masf pedals but never seen it again anywhere. it looked and sounded amazing. Traumatone made them (Ryan Bloomer/ Flatline Construct/ Delta Kane/ Stegm/ Zenta Sustained/ Intensive Care etc etc) I tested a few prototypes on tour in 2...

Re: Weird Tales / Sword & Sorcery
Currently reading To Rouse Leviathan by Matt Cardin. VERY Liggoti-ish but I'm enjoying it. I started it last year, wasn't in the mood and put it down but now I'm right into it. Matt Cardin has written a lot of essays on Ligotti, the influence is definitely there. His religious leanings come through...

Re: Korg MS-20: Tips and Tricks
I still feel like I haven't really discovered the full hidden mysterious depths of the MS20 but I will say that learning to use the external signal processor is very helpful for developing weird sounds. Even patching the headphone out into the ESP in and back into the synth opens up a whole world o...

Re: Noise Rock (Touch & Go, AmRep, Skin Graft, etc)
The noise rock genre at this juncture in time seems absolutely dead to me and mostly refers to slightly angular post-hardcore bands meant to be at the bottom of a Pitchfork reviews page. I think the term is a bit nebulous now, and seemingly most bands that use it are doing so for branding purposes....

Re: Noise Heads / Musicians
Can play instruments, and can write and compose music.
For the last few years I’ve been in a headspace where I’m not interested in either rigid composition or structureless sound/ noise and am trying to hit parts of each of those approaches.

Re: Dislikes and turnoffs
Lack of effort Guitar noise Too much reliance on describing process to cover for an uninteresting release Formless noise with bad buried vocals being passed off as power electronics Being so stuck in the past that an artist is afraid to make their own moves Completely rejecting the past and an artis...

Re: Underrated and under hyped projects
Strom.ec Eleczema Deterge/Laureate Strom.ec are a personal favourite of mine, love Stromstad as well. Sometimes it’s hard to discern if older acts are underrated or just less talked about because they’re less active (Anenzephalia, and I’ll throw in Ke/ Hil too who were amazing) MNEM never seemed to...
