Re: Dream gear and future innovations

to be honest, i would love just every pedal/effect to have connections that line up so they are easy to link together instead of having cable spaghetti, but i know this is just a dream.

Re: Dream gear and future innovations

once saw a pedal/noise maker called the torture wheel. think it was masf pedals but never seen it again anywhere. it looked and sounded amazing. Traumatone made them (Ryan Bloomer/ Flatline Construct/ Delta Kane/ Stegm/ Zenta Sustained/ Intensive Care etc etc) I tested a few prototypes on tour in 2...

Re: Dislikes and turnoffs

I guess also cliques and moody guys who think the genre belongs to them because they got into merzbow before you. Tired old men living on past glories of some show they played years ago but have not done much in the mean time. Ego's.

Re: Dislikes and turnoffs

for me one of the biggest turn off's or annoyances is the use of tropes in noise. the moody back screen with black and white imagery taken from a car, boat, train is so over rated and over done that i just cant take it seriously. the emulation and imitation is another thing that just irks me, i get ...

Re: Pathways to Noise / Place and Time

i guess in some ways i wanted to hear noise before i knew what noise was, probably most people could say that but i liked the weird sounds i would hear in messing around with records and scraping the needle across my folks collection (much to their annoyance). my first taste of noise as it could be ...

Re: Prurient thread

i first became aware of prurient in 2005 when i helped run sound for a gig in leeds and he blew most of the speakers in the first five minutes apart from one which was dragged onto the stage and was still really fucking loud and sounded better in my humble opinion. Was this the same time Emil Beaul...

Re: Canadian noise in decades past

have to mention skrunt skrunt from edmonton who has played victoria and vancouver noise fests, as well as other shows around the place for some time now. abram's stuff is always interesting and unique, sometimes abrasive, sometimes soft but completely new sounding which is a breath of fresh air. he ...

Re: Canadian noise in decades past

Vancouver definitely has had some great acts over the years and i have put on quite a few of them as time goes on but one thing that i always found weird was the audience numbers. sometimes they are very hit and miss, as with most things i guess but i remember putting on gordon ashworth, the rita, m...

Re: New Wave of Canadian Noise

there has been some good stuff out of edmonton, damno te, skrunt skrunt, poitier/km topfer i am not really sure if there is any east coast (nova scotia, new brunswick, labrador) stuff going on? i hear rumblings every now and again from the interior of BC but the geography is so vast its hard to keep...

one poor guy i saw coming into the room during a slogun performance, just to see what was happening in leeds at the 2004 Grunt, Cloama, Slogun, Sickness, Control tour had the pints he was carrying very much dropped onto the floor.

Re: WHITE CENTIPEDE NOISE PODCAST

it was nice to see a show after so many years. thought sam's set was great, a departure from previous sets and a minimal set up that i liked.
