Re: Books
Oh yes. Thomas Bernard is my favorite author. He was a tough nut to crack when I first read him many years ago, but by now reading him feels like hugging a pillow, being so at home with his language. I'm usually a very slow reader who shy away from books that are just chapterless masses of text, bu...
Re: Books
Has anyone read The Imago Sequence and Other Stories by Laird Barron? The author comes recommended based on what I'm reading currently. I've read almost all his stuff up to the collection Swift to Chase (which was garbage imo). He's ok. Definitely just simple entertainment without much in the way d...

Re: Project Feedback Thread
Hey! here's a track i finished this weekend for my PE project Come and See. I'd love to know what y'all think of it. I think most of it i've done with a couple of eurorack modules and my Elektron Analog Rythm. Then i've bounced everything in Ableton, tweeked it to place everything where i wanted it...

Re: New Wave of Canadian Noise
Any discussion of Canadian noise, new or otherwise, should mention Damno Te. I mean like KM Toepfer he's been true to it for a long time now...but i just discovered his work this summer and this one is my favorite:

Re: Project Feedback Thread
Couple of new things...all are somewhat works in progress...i think the recordings sound quite a bit better, since I have pared things down and restrained myself from altering the panning too too much. I really appreciate the feedback so far both on here and in private, from those who've given me th...

Feedback welcome. WIP. https://tinyurl.com/3uem3uwp Thank you. Overall I like what you've got going on sound wise, but I think I agree with thatonekidatshows in that it's not quite sounding right just yet. Yeah, more bass would be good as I think layers tend to be in same frequency range as far as ...

Feedback welcome. WIP. https://tinyurl.com/3uem3uwp Thank you. Hey, man. I just listened to some of your material, and I think you're definitely onto something. You have a decent palate of sounds and keep things interesting for the duration of the track(s) without becoming too self-indulgent. That ...

SCUM - Literary Fragment (Nefarious Activities, 2020) 3" CD-R
SCUM - Literary Fragment (Nefarious Activities) "3 CD-R review 1 - "Live at Super Deluxe" April 28th 2018 The sound clarity seems to "improve" as the piece progresses, becoming this frightful noturne down an unlit, trash strewn, alleyway of a forlorn industrial city --- this...

Re: epic purchase of bandcamp
I like this and I'm going to implement it also...I'd been reducing my purchases on Bandcamp on some instinctual level anyway for some time now. Our music should have its own platform anyway but it is also good for it to not become too insular, which some may argue it already kinda is. I am stealing ...

Currently reading: -High Weirdness (Survey of PDK, Robert Anton Wilson and Terence McKenna) What's your opinion on that? It's on my "to-read" list too, haven't gotten it though. I just finished it. It's pretty indispensable for anyone well versed on any of its subjects (I knew of McKenna,...

My name's Erin Altomare, from Vancouver, Canada. I do noise as 1/2 of Molena with my partner Jon, and solo noise just using my name (no solo releases yet, just live performances and a video for last year's online Edmonton noise fest) I was obsessed with harsh noise for years before I actually start...
Re: RAP SHIT
Anyone ever heard this before? I found it on an old skate cassette mix made ca. 1998/99. Enjoy:

Dan, 40, Edmonton, Alberta. I've been listening to noise since gestation. As a fully grown human person, I came to noise through the cutup/audio experiments of William Burroughs and Brion Gysin. I made some half-hearted attempts to make my own sounds around 2007-8 but only really began experimentin...

Incapacitants - Gody Fishing Oh my fucking goodness. This is. Well. I've gone on and on, and on. And will forever go, on. About the opening track on the disc from which this track is taken.
