Re: Grindcore / Noisecore / Powerviolence / Gorenoise
damn, that sucks to hear. the drumming is what i dig the most in that band, probably because of being a drummer myself. the world lost a huge talent with himScream & Writhe wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 9:34 am Graham, the drummer in Throat Slitter, Shooting Spree, etc. Passed away a couple years ago.

Re: Grindcore / Noisecore / Powerviolence / Gorenoise
does anyone know anything about this band? https://throatslitter.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2014 came across this on bandcamp few days ago and it's definitely my kind of music. reminds me of twitch a lot. seems like they haven't done anything since 2015, which is a shame. have they got other projects ...

Kadotus Records: Bryskt - Antropogen (KAD-01) and Kobeuk - Oakdrome (KAD-02) Digital & CS
The first two releases from Kadotus Records, a new DIY noise/experimental music label from Finland, are available on bandcamp now, with cassette release to follow near June. Bryskt is a Helsinki-based Swedo-Finnish harsh noise project. The soundscapes are rough and rugged harsh noise with a minimali...

Re: Grindcore / Noisecore / Powerviolence / Gorenoise
finally got to release this gem of a demo: https://whatsthepointrecords.bandcamp.com/album/industrial-scale-cultivation-of-invertabrates-and-larvae has there been any other new grind gems coming out this year? i've browsed bandcamp's grindcore tag frequently (though usually not very deep, i admit) b...

Re: Pathways to Noise / Place and Time
hardcore punk -> powerviolence and grindcore -> noisecore -> noise was the route for me. of course i knew something about noise beforehand, i've been interested in experimental and "weird" music even before i dived head-on into punk stuff and fell in love with the subculture (especially si...

Re: Grindcore / Noisecore / Powerviolence / Gorenoise
agathocles has made a split with pretty much every band imaginable, lol. i heard that they release pretty much everything they record no matter the quality. i can ; (and do) respect that but as a listener it is rather difficult to pick out the gems.

https://youtu.be/xK0XGzhBYF0?t=960 at around 16 minutes mark he talks about how he wouldn't sell the company because he knows it's important for artists that BC is independent. "It's a responsibility that I take very seriously." i guess that for a lot of people values and responsibilities...

Re: queer noisesters unite
Does anybody else feel this way about queer music, and/or art in general? yes, kinda. of course stuff like gloss, hirs or limp wrist slaps hard but usually when an artist/bands only theme is that "we're here and we're queer" i usually just give my thumbs up and don't bother following them...

Deep Fried Embryo - Noisecore from McGregor, Iowa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb423O2Dq2Y - Here their side of the split with Sordo that split is great. came across this while browsing bandcamp and it's great too, very strong internal rot vibes: https://deliriantnerve.bandcamp.com/album/uncont...

Re: Production Techniques
Whenever I read that someone uses tape loops I wonder what is in these loops? Whatever you record in them? i've made mine from recycled tapes with some forgotten schlager, religious hymns or other light pop music on them and a few have been left as-is because i've accidentally managed to cut an int...

Re: Production Techniques
Spend a while "writing" a track. care to share a bit more about this part? i'm interested in trying out more pre-planned approach to making noise, and to generally put more thought in it, since my style has been mainly intuitional so far. i set up my stuff, winging it with the order of pe...

Re: Likes and Turn-ons
Labels that don’t take pre-orders this!!!! from a diy label-runner point of view, it's very annoying when someone tries to "preorder" a tape that we don't even have the blanks to dub yet; more so when contact is made via social media pm's. should probably stop mentioning any upcoming rele...

Re: Now Playing
I’ve been listening to a lot of skramz and chaotic hardcore/ mathcore lately, here’s what I’ve been spinning today: lots of good stuff there but man i really hate the therm skramz. though i hate every other term for that kind of music as much. love the music though! gotta check that admiral angry a...

guilty connector: beats, noise and life
one of the albums that got me into noise, had forgotten about it completely but i ran into them as i was adventuring on discogs and had to put it on. still great, definitely worth more revisits.

Re: Likes and Turn-ons
In general it's a fools errand to try and screen print anything CMYK unless you have access to not only a pro-press, but a machine calibrated automatic one. You want to make multiple colour art prints? sure- that's doable. But to try and DIY something in full colour and match each separation with t...

While I don't do a lot of hand crafted releases, I always like getting hand crafted releases because it feels really neat. i'm currently thinking of screenprinting the covers for one of my bands' future release (that we haven't really even wrote any material yet, lol) but that may prove to be impos...
