Re: Collages/Visual Art

Can anyone recommend good ways to preserve collages? I have a piece that was recently completed that I will be mailing to someone, so I would like to ensure that is is not damaged in transit. I know that if I brace it with cardboard/a nice shipper, then hopefully bends will not be a big issue. My m...

Re: Packaging and art at the expense of…

This is why I love the Wrath releases---they nicely include both hand-made collages and extra inserts, which make the release unique and somehow more substantial than just another printed J-card, while never going over the top. Simplicity is sometimes the best option. However, this is coming from so...

The last few days for me have been the new L.White Records comp and various Solmania releases from a long time ago---one has to love those modified guitars!

Present and accounted for.

Btw I remember often standing around, watching everyone's gear between sets at shows while everyone playing (and some of the audience) ran outside to smoke weed.
See, you know what is truly important at noise shows!

Re: substance abuse/usage in noise

Some guy kept vaping at the Bastard Noise show that I went to last month, and it was really annoying given the small scale of the venue!

Also, I actually contributed a couple of chapters and reviews to the Fight Your Own War book. Not sure if that content was rated as 'good' or 'bad' in the above comments No, your contributions were some of the good ones! I think most of the criticism that is directed against that book is more aimed...

I guess I am here to blow my own trumpet, although clearly my publications are on the 'post-industrial' side of the noise vs industrial divide. Also, I actually contributed a couple of chapters and reviews to the Fight Your Own War book. Not sure if that content was rated as 'good' or 'bad' in the ...

Re: Noise Books

Not contemporary noise, but I have had a book on Fluxus performance scores/records called Sense Sound Sound Sense waiting to be read on my shelf for a while. Fuck I would LOVE to read this - only copy I can see is $188. I love seeing those graphic notations they do. I am also a HUGE Yoko Ono fan, I...

I also wish the TCM Underground lady had her show a little earlier---I am no night owl! This is where a DVR comes in really handy - set it to record and catch it the next day! I watch almost nothing in "real time". Even stuff like the news or sporting events, I'll record it and start 15-3...

Titicut Follies - 1967 - fly-on-the-wall documentary about a hospital for the criminally insane in Massachussets. Hard to watch, but necessary. I watched In The Mood For Love, not really my thing, but I will not deny that it looked absolutely fantastic. Would you say that it lives up to the reputation it has gotten? I really hadn't heard of it previously, so I might be out of the loop? I can see why it would be on Criterion for sure. I had...

Wow, I had thought that Wold was long dead. But, of course I must ask, if he is reactivating with a label , can we expect any reissues of the old albums? If you're just looking for CDs Profound Lore has them direct from his webstore for very reasonable prices. It would be wild to get Stratification...
