COIL - Moon's Milk (In Four Phases)

It's a reissue, obviously, but very good. It is probably my favorite Coil material overall.

Flail live sounds awesome! I liked their first ep quite a bit.

In addition to many of the projects mentioned above, I also always like Aunt Mary---the pre-Bizarre Uproar noisecore experiment!

Re: Classical

I was listening to Alfred Schnittke yesterday, and I liked it quite a bit---at parts reminiscent of some early Nurse With Wound (though very different in other respects).

Re: Introduce yourself

It's impossible for me to pick one. If I were to pick one per decade: 80s: Pornoise 90s: Magnesia Nova or Space Metalizer 00s: Sha Mo 3000, Merzzow, 24 Hours, and Turmeric are a 4-way tie 10s: Kamadhenu 20s: I am behind on listening to 20s Merzbow, no pick yet Birchville Cat Motel's Beautiful Speck...

Re: Merzbow Reissue Wishlist

I've really enjoyed a lot of the Merzbow reissues from the past 15 years. I love the Lowest Music 1980-1983 boxset, and all the 90s records coming have been awesome. So glad they hit Magnesia Nova + some of these recent 80s reissues. We are coming up on the 20-year anniversary of Merzbuddha, and th...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hey all! Joined because I've lurked on the Merzbow Vinyl Reissue thread to see what might be upcoming for a while, and I decided I wanted to weigh in. Manly a fan, I dabble in music but nothing I want to share. I like Yellow Swans, Birchville Cat Motel, a little bit of Mouthus, Loren Chasse is grea...

Re: COIL

But is it only a problem with the vinyl, then? Just bad pressings, or do all their releases sound poor? Just because one person owns a record that skips does not mean a label's entire output sounds bad. True, but quality control is a real thing. I would rather ask/find out than buy blind/regret. We...

Re: Hospital/NWN Fest in Osaka / Machine Parts in Tokyo

What a trip! Out of my 9 full days in Japan I went for gigs on 5 and they kinda already start bleeding into each other in my mind. All the beers make it even more so. The start of the trip was promising, slightly jetlagged (I tried to prepare and adjust beforehand) arriving at my hotel and finding ...

Re: Hospital/NWN Fest in Osaka / Machine Parts in Tokyo

@ss1535 yea, set was GO for about 40 minutes, then Dom came out and did Civil War Scapegoat off the new LP with GO, then David from Grey Wolves came out and closed it out while GO and Dom were backing Dang, that sounds awesome. Seeing the flyer, it didn't look like it could be topped---and then the...

Big shout out for the Vomir show at Soup. Great little space and a very cool crew running things. Nothing like kicking around in a scummy basement amongst freaks to make you feel at home, even across the other side of the world! All great sets. Not to downplay the efforts of the international artis...

Several great nights at the cinema. Past couple months have been slow going for me when it comes to film watching. This year started off far too busy with the distro and related activities to do much else, but getting back in the groove now. Did you catch all of these in a theater? Just the spaghet...

Hey, I'm not even saying I disagree with you on anything. These are very abstract concepts we're dealing here, I don't see why several different approaches could not be equally valid at the same time. Exactly---there should probably be as many approaches/answers as possible, to better match the con...
