Re: Happy Noise?

The New Boyfriends seem pretty fucking happy, too. This was one of the first ones I thought of. Love these dudes. I mean it's so hard to not be happy looking at a goofy album cover like them in the towels or the cheesy ass grins in the fourth season. Also Total Sweetheart. Shocked they weren't ment...

Re: Generational differences in the noise community

That actually might be pretty good podcast fodder. Old fucks vs new breed (or whatever), maybe get one or two reps from each to just go off. Might be innerestin. Perspective. Yeah this way us ignorant dipshits can get schooled by you lol Honestly I think it's because everything is available on the ...

Re: Generational differences in the noise community

And this brings me to something I've seen a lot of people complain about (including OP, though I'm not sure if they're complaining or just musing): gatekeeping and barrier of entry. True, there is a barrier of entry to the world of noise. And I mean the established, physical release centric noise s...

Re: Generational differences in the noise community

- as for technology, I take a reverse stance - there is no "right" way to make noise, if it sounds good to you and expresses what you want, it's good, whether you make it on junk metal, an iPad, a laptop, a ridiculously expensive wall of modular gear, whatever. If purists and gatekeepers ...

Generational differences in the noise community

Howdy friends. This topic has been on my mind for a while and seemingly on the minds of others given that it's been a talking point on multiple episodes of the WCN podcast, but I thought it was time to have a larger discussion on the differences and disconnections between generations in the noise sc...

Re: Project Feedback Thread

Feedback welcome. WIP. https://tinyurl.com/3uem3uwp Thank you. Overall I like what you've got going on sound wise, but I think I agree with thatonekidatshows in that it's not quite sounding right just yet. Yeah, more bass would be good as I think layers tend to be in same frequency range as far as ...

Re: Introduce yourself

I'm Anders. Recently relocated from Madison WI to Portland. I've dabbled with making stuff for a few years now under ANHN and Béton Brut but haven't gotten much out there yet. Hoping to change that in the coming years.

Re: Noise Artists: What are you doing and what's on your mind RIGHT NOW?

Finally resumed working on a more or less abandoned tape experiment from over two years ago. I always kind of wanted to finish it because I loved the idea and thought it would probably end up sounding really cool but I basically just gave up because it was time consuming and I was struggling with mo...
