Yes! Tom, he was originally based in Weymouth but moved to Bournemouth for uni. He lives in Southampton now. Good egg, played a bunch of shows with him.

Re: Abstract/Weird/Outer edges

That’s actually probably a bit unfair, there wasn’t tons there, but what Reckno, Krayon, Dirty Demos, Dead Wood, No Context etc were all doing was, and still is, pretty special. But not so much going on that new connections like that COOS one aren’t exciting!

Re: Abstract/Weird/Outer edges

Krayon was a great little label and the guy who run it was such a nice chap. Yes, he's not been active for a long time now. First time i met him was at Colour out of Space (probably 2013?) and he was so happy that Steve Fricker (Onomatopeia) was originally from Bournemouth like himself Very little ...

To the best of my knowledge they’re not. I know the last live event they did was a show for Wanda Group, maybe 6 or 7 years ago?

Re: Abstract/Weird/Outer edges

I’d never heard of this but just listened to Shama/Parwana on bandcamp, and really enjoyed it. Bits of music, junk sounds, and weird vocals flying all over the place; I do have a soft spot for this kind of thing! I’ll have to hunt down some tapes. You definitely should hear this one! An all time fa...

Knifedoutofexistence/Fleshlicker/Viimeinen English Tour

Knifedoutofexistence, Fleshlicker and Viimeinen will be playing 5 shows around England at the start of March: https://i.imgur.com/H2xZO6p.jpg For this tour, we have made a three way split tape with a new track from each of us. For those who cannot make the show, there is a pre-order up now on the Ou...

Re: Favorite noise releases of all time

Hair Police - Mercurial Rites Incredible record! I was played it on my first tour doing noise I think, it came out around that time. Another record that nails the noise-with-vocals but not PE thing that I love so much that I mentioned in the Now Playing thread when I went off on one about how great...

Re: Favorite noise releases of all time

Been thinking about this recently, so off the top of my head if I had to pick a top 5 I’d go with this:
Ramleh - Hole In The Heart
Vasculae - In Theory
Ligature - Paradise
Constrictions - Zero Discrimination
Purging Light - Endlessness Of Desire

Re: Grindcore / Noisecore / Powerviolence / Gorenoise

Casing. Great PV/grind project from London. Started as a solo recording project but they have played a few shows as 3 piece recently (all of which I have unfortunately missed). Very much in The Endless Blockade/Column Of Heaven world, loads of noise, clear metal influences. It’s just bass, so brings...

Re: Forgotten noises from the entrails of the vault

Purging Light - Endlessness Of Desire https://purginglight.bandcamp.com/album/endlessness-of-desire I know this tape inside out. I’ve listened to it so many times over the years. Just great raw noise and scathing vocals. I’ve not really seen them mentioned outside of the few Dutch people who knew th...

Another one to say how much I love Moss Harvest too. Got to see him play a solo show followed by two collab sets with DFH the next couple of nights a few years back. Matt is so nice and seeing his process was incredibly inspiring.

Don't know if Cuntroaches counts because they don't sound like Nirvana (bad joke) but I love this. https://cuntroaches.bandcamp.com/album/ep-2 If anyone can recommend noise rock that sounds something like Harry Pussy, I would be grateful! Cuntroaches were (are?) incredible. I went to a fest in Berl...

What do you know, I found some time today! To start off I'm going to talk about Regional Bears Without question one of my absolute favourite labels going. A very steady stream of impossible to predict strangeness which takes in some really well known and fantastic names alongside some total mysteri...

Re: Now Playing

I somehow managed to get around hearing this album until last year, it absolutely rocked my world when I finally checked it out. Been a fan of his work for a long time but wow that album is really something special. You hit it right on the head with vocals being worked into noise that doesn’t quite...

Re: Now Playing

Oscillating Innards - Nadir Emergence I’ve had to drive back to my hometown a few times recently, and this had many listens on those trips, another one just now. One of my absolute favourites. Ticks all the boxes for me, blisteringly harsh at times, vulnerable and fragile at others, beautiful loops ...
