Re: Modular Noise

What ultimately matters is finding one' s own workflow with that stuff. My Euro case is nothing like what I thought it'd be or wanted it to be a few years ago. I do use it for sound making out of convenience sometimes now (although it's coming from the 4U Serge 99% of the time now) but I use modular...

Re: Advice for a newbie

I back the Kenny Gioia videos. I seriously dislike DAWs but they helped me lots with Reaper. His speech's flow drives me absolutely nuts, though. This haha, 100%. Watching them at 1.25 or 1.5 speed helps. Ooooh that's a brilliant idea I never thought of. I'll try it out next time I need to check on...

Re: Eurorack Noise

Maybe you'd like to rename the topic "modular noise" then? I know myself and at least another person on here use modular gear to make noise but not eurorack? I'm in the process of leaving the format entirely actually. And my biggest recommendation would be for anyone who gets into that stu...

Re: THE DREADED GEAR THREAD

For noise, I've used the same 5 tape loops for a few years now, always recording over and over on them. They break, I put them back together and ruin them some more. Also modular synths (10% euro, 90% Serge now) , but mostly as processing tools, hardly ever as sound-making devices, and one nice dela...

Re: Listening Habits

It seems pretty common these days, with new batches of multiple releases coming out every week, that everyone has ever-growing "new arrivals" pile stacking up on the shelf. I do get the multiple advantages for a label to release batches of releases but it drives me nuts, still. Each relea...

Re: Listening Habits

I stopped caring anymore. When I want to listen to something in particular, it's true that I'll take 3 or 4 tapes of the same artist off the drawers with the hope I'll be able to listen to them while the mood for them lasts. It's not often the case, sadly, because life gets in the way. Also, I ultim...
