Re: True Crime Electronics (Slogun, Deathpile, Fistfuck etc.)

I think the Murder Series of 7”s from Self Abuse is an obvious answer.

Re: Noise Artists: What are you doing and what's on your mind RIGHT NOW?

Still very much in the middle of the unpacking part of moving and having moved into a much smaller apartment, let’s just say, it’s starting to get pretty interesting.

Favorite Venues

I’m not sure if this belongs here but I feel like it could be a good resource as well as a way to share memories of venues long gone in your area, or that you’ve played on tour. Coming from the punk/grindcore scenes I tend to gravitate towards the warehouse/industrial setting. Punk venues like Hazma...

Just sent Scream & Writhe some copies today.

Re: Unusual hnw

I love Julien Skrobek’s work. I’ve released and split with him a couple times. I like the abstract paper collage kinda covers he was doing for a while there too like I don’t know, almost ten years ago. Truthfully I think Sean Ramirez deserves credit for making very interesting. Sometimes unusual and...

Re: Books

I just finished Audrey Szasz’s newest, Counterillumination, absolutely loved it. If you’re familiar with her work and are a fan I’m sure you’ll like it as well. It wouldn’t be the first one I recommend if you’re not familiar though. It’s a pretty intense and immersive read.

Sissy Spacek “Absorb Wanting Symbols” CD

From Petite Soles In July of 2022, I attended a show at Mr. Roboto in Pittsburgh, PA, accompanying my friends Richard and Sean Ramirez who were performing with Sissy Spacek that evening. Very excited as I'd been a Sissy Spacek fan for years and they'd definitely been one of the bands to bridge grind...

Re: Dream gear and future innovations

The ultimate dream is one of those big metal junkyard devices with the gears and teeth that basically eats up anything. I just looked and I guess it’s a car shredder.

Morales Got Silver Toes cassette

New cassette of harsh noise. Crumble and feedback worship. Amplified metal, buried samples, inspired by one of my favorite scenes from The New York Ripper.

Edition of 25.

I know Peter Keller of Bacillus fame does some stuff like this. https://perpetualabjection.bandcamp.com/album/negative-to-the-power-of-infinity The first project to really blow my mind was Sean E. Re: Film Discussion / Now Watching

Enys Men (Jenkin, 2022) Oh man, I realllly wanted to see this in the theater. But I don’t think it played anywhere around here. I just finished watching Lizzie (2018) it took me a minute to kinda get into the pacing of it but once it took I ended up really enjoying it. Didn’t hurt that Chloë Sevign...

Re: Pathways to Noise / Place and Time

I guess I’ll keep it short, punk and hardcore to grindcore and PV. Friends in some grindcore bands introduced me to power electronics and noise. I kinda took to it and slowly started finding it more and more interesting. Started buying noise releases adding more elements of it into my grindcore stuf...

Re: Weird Tales / Sword & Sorcery

I have a book collecting all of Robert Chambers’ Weird Fiction stuff but have only previously read The King in Yellow. Pretty excited to dive in but also, a little nervous. Surely if they were all as good would they not be as known as The King in Yellow? My favorite of those stories was “The Demoise...

Re: Best of Richard Ramirez/Black Leather Jesus/WWJ/etc

I mentioned some of the stuff in this thread to Richard. He showed me a flyer where he played a show with Forced Orgasm. I guess this rumor had been around a while. Also, I guess a bunch of the people in Houston know E.E.E. He told me at one point people even thought he was David Gilden, But that en...

Re: Books

Almost 100 pages into Liarmouth by John Waters and this shit is ridiculous. I’m loving it. It’s hilarious and goes places I was not expecting. If you’re a fan of his films, so far at least, I think you’ll enjoy this book.

Got lucky and snagged a copy of Koufar’s “My Name is My Name”and listening to that now. Partially through the B-side now and I’m on one of the tracks that I think has a collaborator. So far it’s definitely great and super glad I was finally able to track one of these down.

Re: Mourning damaged releases thread

My copy of Disgust’s “Time Ruins Everything…” was somehow cracked. No clue how, it was oddly skipping the last time I played it and realized the horror shortly after. I’m usually pretty careful with that kind of thing and even have boxes specifically made to house conventionally packaged 3”s One of ...

Greensburg, PA Noise Fest

I was tasked with helping book people for a noise fest at The Green Beacon Gallery on October 21st. Once everyone is confirmed I will make up a flyer but trying to get the word out a little more before hand. As of now we have: Bacillus John Wiese Moonbeam Terror Slit Throats Deterge Unusual Affairs ...
