Re: Noise Apparel
I went up a shirt size during the pandemic, so the only noise shirt I currently have in rotation is a Vomit Arsonist one I bought online. I have others that I used to wear (Brighter Death Now, Nyodene D, Pharmakon, Prurient...).

I bought Sounds of New Music at a local record store yesterday. There is a Noisextra episode about it: https://www.noisextra.com/2020/06/17/va ... new-music/

Re: Pathways to Noise / Place and Time
I came to it from being a huge fan of stuff like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Wax Trax style Industrial. So I was curious about the roots of Industrial and I found out about TG, SPK, the Cabs, etc. Similar to my story, though for me it was in the mid-late 2000s. I was definitely exploring noise a...

I suppose any of the USA Throbbing Gristle shows in 2009. I just assumed they'd have to come to Canada eventually. :(

Re: Dislikes and instant turnoffs
Frankly I think a lot of guys use right wing imagery because they want to have a noise project, don't have anything really provocative to say but want to get a rise out of people. I think that crowd does generally (but not always) lean right and racist but there's a spectrum of those beliefs and so...

Approaches to distorted vocals and lyrics
Been wondering how other listeners approach power electronics and death industrial projects that make use of heavily distorted vocals. Do you tend to find them easily understandable? Do you put effort into trying to decipher them over many listens? Do you treat them as just another sound source, and...

Maybe the character identified in the local sound has to already exist at some level in the general perception of the region. So the words that one would commonly use to describe "Swedish noise" or "Midwest noise" or "LA noise" have to make sense as words that people mi...

Re: Noise/PE/industrial backpatches?
I think I saw a Grey Wolves back patch at Cheap Thrills once. I don't know if that's something they still sell.
