Re: Dislikes and turnoffs
Fuck me, THE most frustrating experience. Do you request a refund from the distro, contact the label? Do you just eat it and bite your tongue? Maybe both? I guess the distro is responsible for the refund and would (and should) contact the label about it anyways, but I would definitely appreciate fe...

I fear this will turn into a total fucking mess, as of now it seems to be just a fucking mess.
Re: RAP SHIT
El-P's solo albums are getting vinyl represses, celebrating their 20th, 15th, and 10th anniversaries. I've been waiting for a FanDam repress for AGES.

Re: Doom/Sludge/Drone/Stoner/etc
Are there any legit drone doom bands other than Earth, Sunn O))) and early Boris? Hell, do I even need anything else? Looking for that low tuned, drumless, monolithic shit. I remember Goat Tunnel being good, might need to do a revisit.

Re: Dislikes and instant turnoffs
bandcamp / internet / meme noise (internet culture in general) This is a huge turn off, yes. Most of this Reddit-noise is just lazy overall. I can't help but imagine the artist behind this kind of stuff being some edgy kid who saw Pagefires vids on HN and HNW and decided to do it exactly like in th...

Pain Chain rules, and all the BLJ/Matzus-Ramirez stuff of course. The Distraxi CDr on Bent Window is quite nice. Mutual Aid and Flesh Prison (yeah yeah yeah we all know what they did) are labels run by queer people. Wound Botulism as well I think, run by the person behind Monolithic Torment? Right n...

I fell out of the loop with grindcore since about 2015. I was really into stuff like Discordance Axis, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Agents of Abhorrence, Hatred Surge, Total Fucking Destruction... What did I miss ? What albums would you guys recommend ? No One Knows What The Dead Think and Formless Maste...

Hijokaidans collabs with pop bands rule. BiSkaidan is my favourite, the homage to Hanatarash on this vid is hilarious

Re: Self Releasing/Starting Labels
If you're dubbing tapes yourself, first read a bit about cassette mastering. Here's a good read about that: https://sonologyst.com/2018/05/19/mastering-to-cassette-tape/ There are free online mastering services like BandLab that do tape masters, but I have no experience with them. Might be worth the...

Re: Doom/Sludge/Drone/Stoner/etc
Disrotted is hands down my favourite doom band these days. Crushing drony riffs, guttural vocals and the tempo of a slug on buprenorphine.
And I can't hype Jucifer's There's No Land Beyond Volga enough. The best guitar sound ever.

Bryan Lewis Saunders - Near Death Experience THIS!!! very, very, very criminally underrated and unknown! One of the most impressing experiences every time I listen through it. Also the documentary is good, I bought it in Vimeo years back but I am not sure if it still exists there. Might want to che...

We've bought our (fully transparent) cases from T.A.P.E Muzik, and they've been quite flimsy as well. Can't remember if Tapelines cases were any better.

Gagarin Kombinaatti was one of the first projects Mika Vainio of Pan Sonic fame was in, maybe even the first. Not too well known I believe. Great noisy industrial.

Re: Underrated and under hyped projects
I always thought Umpio was pretty well known globally, since he's one of the "OG's" of Finnish noise haha. Haven't heard a bad release from him or the bands he plays in, pretty sure there are no such things.
Tyhjä Pää needs more appreciation.
