Sad that this one seems long gone, digital sounds cool
Reliably informed there’s a lot more good shit in the works for next year. A solo Constance release just came out on monk which rules.

Receiving Vault was handling the release but received some flack for very delayed shipments which may have led to them closing the store.

Agree very much with many of the releases mentioned above. Particularly the Star 2CD, Red Wine and Sugar CDr and Natalia Baylis tape are all standouts.

Some others:
Thomas DeAngelo - Voiceprints & Aircuts: Sound Poetry by Other Means (Adhuman)
pnl(a) - Fashion Skull (Absurd Exposition)
Ezio Piermattei- Rosume (Joy De Vivre)
Spring of Life - Interface (self-release)
Palatial - Perennial Apologia (Fantaslatt)
Umpio - Sin Memoria (Absurd Exposition)
Robert Fuchs - Sunstroke (WCN)
Elisha Morningstar - Marte (Buried in Slag and Debris)
Commando 15 - Vauhkola (Satatuhatta)
Jef Mertens & Bardo Todol - Tape Music for Electric Guitar and Hurdy Gurdy (Buried in Slag and Debris)
Rotmans - 490/504 and Two (Vast Field Magnetism)
Haudat - Energiavampyyri (Satatuhatta)

Edit: a few more
Barrett E. Lediard - Heat’s Immediate Double
Brandon Auger - OS:IS (Tool Use)
Grey Park & Sick Days - Work Gothic (Vacancy)

Would like to add this to my list:

Whore's Breath - Wet Slate

Months ago, I had a convo with David about how he liked the "darker" HNW sound of acts like Black Matter Phantasm and The Ebony Tower (neither of which I'd heard before). He said that he was trying to attain that attribute to his sound. Well, he just did!!! As on his page, he describes the album is "Murky, cloudy, misty and somewhat eerie noise wall." I think that's accurate. Btw it came out on the 17th of this month, so it snuck in juuuuuuuuust under the wire...

So much of my listening is older releases. I feel like there’s really no way I can do a top ten. Top six will have to do. Also excluding any reissues otherwise the list would be much longer.

H.Ö.H – Tukkeutunut Uniperäinen Mania
HEAT SIGNATURE - Wired For Intrusion
ANTS IN THE AFTERBIRTH - S/T
MNEM - Heart Of Complex
GOLDEN PURIFIER - Ganz Andere
PSYCHWARD - Institutionalized (Extended)

Aside from ANTS IN THE AFTERBIRTH, all are projects that I have been enamored with in some way or another for a while now. The ANTS... tape really just hits all of the perfect notes for long form 90's style harsh noise. I hate to reduce it to that, as it is just a great release despite any drawing back from bygone eras. Hope to hear more from GOLDEN PURIFIER as well. Compared to last year's release, Walpurgisopfer, Ganz Andere is quite short. But great nonetheless. Hopefully there is some kind of full length in the works. Captivating foggy industrial done like few others do.

I haven't heard (or even heard OF) most of the stuff people have listed. What webzines/blogs should I be reading? I already read Untitled zine, Noise Receptor (print version), and Noise Widow...

Happy to be corrected on this but I don't think it's a matter of following certain blogs or zines. Not to say they don't exist and aren't good, but more that the can't be a primary way people would have found out about those releases. If you think about how fast and frequently these things come out vs how slowly zines and blogs get updated it wouldn't make sense anyway.

A lot of the best of lists I've read - both harsh noise and more broadly experimental - contain releases I've not heard myself but am not surprised to see because they're released by quite popular labels with a committed audience and decent reach. Whatever that means. In many cases I suspect the people sharing their favourites are no more than 2 degrees separate from the artist or label involved. Not a criticism, just the way things are. But important to be aware of if it seems like there is some centralised place where all the discussion is happening. I don't think there is.

Catching on to these releases is probably more a case of making sure you follow the labels involved and generally just continue to be involved with noise as and where you find it.
