Demands a concentrated listen because if your mind wanders, you've missed something. Side A is animated and fast-paced without letting up for a moment. Lots of searing, ripping sounds that divebomb into thunderous explosions. It all makes sense, simulating the uncompromising madness of the battlefield. Momentary uses of human voice are creative, blown out and fucked up. It settles on a thoughtful ending, giving it a sense of finality. Nice touch. Side B is my preferred track, as there’s a bit more variety in dynamics and pacing, though it lacks the same kind of considerate outro as Side A. Wide diversity of sounds and textures throughout but firmly anchored in red-lined harsh noise. J-card design looks good and has an appropriate aesthetic given the subject matter. The labels on the cassette don't specify which side is which and that's annoying. I’ll be buying the new one.
