My introduction to CMI was the terrific "2x6 The Dimensions Of A Coffin" compilation:

IRM was an early CMI favourite.
I'm maybe more partial to the Nihil comp than I need to be.
Always was intrigued by Sharon's Last Party dropping a Daniel Johnston track (not a cover) in the middle of their side.

I love Raison d'être, Brighter Death Now, and Memorandum, off the top of my head! I need to explore this label more.

Aux Morts is certainly one of the best unsung LPs on CMI.

You get the entire Memorandum back catalogue on the Ars Moriendi compilation CD. One of the best bands on CMI for sure. Not sure where to start mentioning favourites on the label, everything released from the beginning and up to the turn of the millenium is basically essential to me...After that a few good ones, like some IRM and Instutut albums, were released, but also some less interesting things.

Re: Cold Meat Industry
Mental Destruction is my favorite death industrial that was on there. I discovered them in like 98 or 99.

In Slaughter Natives - Enter Now The World
One of the best albums ever in any genre. Perfect amalgamation of dark ambient and industrial.

I really like that Nihil comp as well! IRM are definitely one I really like, I was very impressed with the reissue of An Act Of Mutilation on Phage, would definitely pick up others.Scream & Writhe wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 11:04 pm IRM was an early CMI favourite.

On a funny note I found my copy of May All Be Dead in a used punk section for like $8, I guess they thought it was some shitty Crass rip off.
