Noise/industrial documentaries

Post by D345 »

Can you recommend good documentaries about noise/industrial related bands or scenes or whatever? And where to watch/buy/download them

Here's some:

https://youtu.be/ASa80SyUCso
Incapacitants the movie

https://youtu.be/ZC7dz8Zp-4M
Edge of Decay documentary

https://youtu.be/jpvnDZNPb3w
Tunnel Canary (a brief history 1978-83)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095487/
Victory Under The Sun/Laibach: Pobeda pod suncem (all Laibach documents are amazing)

https://youtu.be/ga6ZwfsS1cA
Tokyo Noise (more about Tokyo than noise but still)
But he was always more concerned with making his guitar sound like a dying horse, more than anything else.

I watched this with my wife and she was surprised because she knows Mike McKinlay as a videographer. Small world.

I was browsing youtube for this topic and stumbled on to a christian noise document.
"Christian Noise. Armor Of God" etc.

I know noise is spread out and everyone has access to it but still I never thought to find christian themed noise.

Wonder if he ever plays in sunday churches.

This is about Clang Quartet, I think I remember seeing it many years ago. The christian stuff is not for me but the guy has been around for ages doing his own thing and his performances always looked really cool. Released on RRR, Blossoming Noise, Cruel Symphonies etc.

Yeah, he's been around since 1996.

And, uh, I'm one... There are a lot of us, in fact. I mostly know the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox ones, mostly because I was confirmed Orthodox, but attend a Roman Catholic parish. Just look at my username... haha

Reverberation is excellent! Beautiful stuff. Social distancing before it was a thing.
That Papa Srapa looks very interesting, sad to hear that.

Emil Beaulieau mini-documentary by Brainwashed:

Good mix of live performances and interviews with other artists talking about the man himself.

There’s also this:
Romua, Ruiskeita ja Rutinaa / Noise of Finland

Noise of Finland is a documentary about finnish noise and power electronics scene.
Loud distorted noise made with scrap metal and effect pedals are combined with extreme views and shocking visuals. The barriers of human limits and impossibility of commercial success are surpassed with limitless self expression. Movie includes the artists of the genre like Grunt, Bizarre Uproar, Manic/Depression, Sick Seed and Strom.EC
Fairly rudimentary and very short documentary film, but still interesting, imo. AfaIk it’s only available as bonus material for the DVD of the same director’s black metal documentary, Endless Flame of Gehenna.
