One option for supporting our siblings in Ukraine is to buy Ukrainian music in Bandcamp. The Ukrainian experimental electronic music scene has been very active and vibrant, especially in Kyiv. Find your favourites via geographical tags and buy some music!

Some boycots you might want to start:

- Netflix. They are operating in Russia, broadcasting Putin's propaganda. When asked about this, they have claimed to pursue 'neutrality'. Obviously, this is just serving Putin and friend's purposes. Just unsubscribe, it is a shitty streaming service anyway.

EDIT apparently they saw how shit hit the fan and withdrew from the cooperation with Sputnik and co. But unsubscribing Netflix is not a bad idea anyway :lol:

- Yango the taxi company (very popular in Finland where I live). Owned by Russian oligarks. Don't use it, very plain and simple.

MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: Russian oil and gas companies. Do research on your energy sources. Fossiles are the backbone of the Russian economy. Many companies are reluctant giving any information on the origins of their products because oftentimes, there are no nice things to tell. Buy gas from Teboil and fuck up the climate and some civillians in Ukraine, or just don't. I understand that sometimes switching into renewables is impossible bc you are poor etc but we REALLY need to put pressure on politicians to change this.

Apparently it is difficult for people in Ukraine to access funds on Paypal right now, so contacting people for their direct bank info / Western Union transfers is much more reliable if you want to support individuals directly.

A Ukrainian friend of mine here in Germany is collecting money and is involved in buying and successfully transporting a lot of needed supplies and goods to the border, so this is a good non-bureaucratic way to help those on the ground in Ukraine (if your subversive musical taste or 4chan rebel identity doesn't disapprove).

Very good point on Paypal. I am sorting out a charity noise compilation (Bandcamp and tape) with some Finnish noise people and we were thinking to do it with Paypal as a money transfer tool, now I have to think it through once more.

There is a nice quick fix for Putin's trolls on this forum: go to their profile, click 'add foe' so you don't need to see their shit here. Wish it were so easy everywhere...

The amount of edgelord \ tankie \ "well actually" \ spicy takes that I've seen here and elsewhere over the last few days is fucking disgusting. If you want to philosophically debate current and historic political issues, go on reddit and you can find plenty of uneducated people happy to do that with you. This thread was started to share information on how to help people in Ukraine, which hardly anyone is actually doing. Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is get out of the way or be quiet.

There's been helpful information how to fund people organising the purchase and delivery of supplies directly to those in need posted already, so I won't share more of those. If you prefer to donate directly to people helping queer\poc\trans people get safely out of harms way, I can direct to people doing that as well. Several Ukrainian friends I know have asked to donate to the military directly, shouldn't be difficult to find out how to do that.

I have a friend from Kiev involved in the noise community who was in the mountains for the last few days and just came back to find this shit happening. He has left everything at his home which is no longer accessible. He is trying to collect resources to support himself and his friends. If you want to donate directly the information is below. I'll be organising a sale of some stuff I was holding onto for a rainy day to support him and another good friend of mine stuck in Crimea, if you need an incentive to support.
