Trivia Night - I'll See You In Hell, My Friend CS

Post by 33033 »

Recently grabbed this release in a trade after checking out samples. This stands out a little more for me due to the overall delivery of the material. Calling your noise project Trivia Night and having a photograph of a giant plushy fish in a trashcan is a bold move. Starting with a few blips and bloops (unpopular with some on this forum so be warned), that sound more like a theme song to a "Trivia Night", a squelching from the manipulation of a vinyl record kicks in and builds into the main event. Coarse foreboding crunch swimming alongside the squelch makes for a good juxtaposition. Lots of twists and turns guide you out through the rest of the track. Second side starts with the slow simmer of what could be a broken TV screen from our fated trivia night. Whirling against that slow simmer comes the attempt to dial in a station on a shortwave radio. The bar is empty, our questions remain unanswered. Perhaps we are screwed, and this oscillating tone is the death knell. I'll see you in hell for sure. Awesome release.
