Well, of course your are. But just for the record, I don't know either.

Re: Now Playing
Ritual Smoker – Not To Dominate, But To Serve
The Insult That Made A Man Out Of Mac – Mutant Puzzle
Black Dice – Broken Ear Record
So Pitted - Neo
Dieter Müh / Mnem – Atomyriades
Geneviève Pasquier – Soap Bubble Factory
or something like that. Listened to some CDs from my shelf which I have probably listened only once years ago.

But he was always more concerned with making his guitar sound like a dying horse, more than anything else.

Re: Now Playing
I started the Sunday morning with,
Spring of Life – Brown Bed CS (White Centipede Noise, 2022)
Sounds of dying electrical machinery plugging in and disconnecting its cables. The tape carries a live played feeling through and through with subdued use of layering and / or loops. The A side crackles and pops in a bit brighter tone where as the B side is a bit more murky and decayed sounding, and maybe utilizes some contact miced sound sources in the mix, too. An enjoyable excursion in “broken noise”, which never really crosses over to a harsh sound.

This might be of interest on this forum, first project by Makoto Kawabata (Acid Mothers Temple, etc) from late 70's, just a bunch of kids with junk and a synth and this is the best thing besides the new Kikagaku Moyo album I think. Although Kawabata's bandcamp is a true treasurechest in itself!

He has a new CD due on Oxen very soon and I'm hoping to do another one of new material later in the year. I'm really looking forward to hearing what he does next. Those two tapes are excellent.

Re: Now Playing
Scathing - Untitled (2021)
Raison d'être - Conspectus
Black Leather Jesus - Aural Aversion Therapy
Black Leather Jesus - Juliet of the Spirits
The Rapture - Echoes
Ramallah Underground - Retrospective
Grouper - Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill
CHVRCHES - Screen Violence
The Cult - Electric
Commentary:
- I'm not as into that Rde as I was hoping I'd be (I've been a huge fan since 98 or 99). It's a rip of the original version.
- The Scathing tape is worth your time. Texas harsh noise. Most of you have already at least heard of this project, but this is some of the best material I've heard from the project.
- BLJ rules, obviously.
- Ramallah Underground is Palestinian hip-hop that's really good. Watch the VICE tv special on them.
- I listen to that Rapture album so much that I've actually bought the CD twice. "Dance-punk" is my jam.
- CHVRCHES is one of my favorite current pop bands. They team up with Robert Smith (yes, from the Cure) on one track. It absolutely rules.
- The Cult is touring with Zola Jesus and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club soon. "Love Removal Machine" is a GREAT song and I'm a fan of both ZJ and especially BRMC.

Aprapat - Hot Lava Shampoo
Only thing that comes to mind: ohan tää vitun hyvä! Amazing guitar solo at the end. Although there is too much "tiluttelu." Is skiing a fetish? Probably all sports are. I wish I could go to sauna. "Only."
Himukalt - Knife Through The Spine
I read an interview of Ester Kärkkäinen (why does she have a finnish name?) and I learned that "himukalt" is estonian word. Wild world.
https://www.musiquemachine.com/articles ... php?id=529
Vigilantism - Fistborn
Like Circle of Shit, Vigilantism is kind of a side project of Edge of Decay. Oh well. Uneasy industrial. Lovely bleakness without any answers. Only cowards need answers. I choose bad environment any time.
Yana - Chimerism
I remember that I wasn't super impressed by this when I first listened to it. Now revisiting this I enjoy this a lot. Maybe it was just a phase. Good vibrations. Chimera lurks. Things grow on me. We all probably are our own twin.
VA - Kolari II
Aprapat, Kovana, Ahola & Silander, Häkki. You can't go wrong with this lineup. And you won't. Welcome to the car smash!
Aprapat sounds here much more dirty than on Hot Lava Shampoo. Maybe it's because of the shampoo. Kovana is as hard as always. Beat shit as it should be. Club anathema! Just the right friction.
Ahola & Silander? Saw them live once and it was proper harsh noise, their records seems to be more ambient and experimental. Noisy still. Sounds like how Kouvola feels. Works perfectly here. I should get my head out of the ass of Finland.
And speaking of ass and Finland, this ass bridge leads us to Häkki! Dassum is from Turku. Oh god. Häkki was the first noise project I saw live. 2014? I'm glad it was them. Dassum and Vanhala. Best of the best.
When Bizarre Uproar was speaking on finnish national radio show, I read a comment online asking: "where do these artists stuck in anal stage come from?" To dig myself deeper, and speaking of Himukalt, we know where it rains. I should stop now. This is the car smash. With all respect and love.

I rather prefer PiL-influenced bands than PiL themselves (The Serfs (US-OH) new album and that one cover that Uniform (US-NYC) did are great). I'm saying this as someone who owns early PiL albums on vinyl (and had Second Issue on tape). Johnny Rotten annoys the hell out of me.D345 wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 8:02 amThe song "echoes" is the best PiL song that PiL never made. Misfits was a good show. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1548850/ this misfits! Echoes plays during opening credits. Though I saw Danzig once at Provinssirock and Doyle joined on stage and they played couple of Misfits songs. Close enough of original Misfits for me.

I know and/or live near enough annoying people that Johnny Rotten just comes across to me as contrived and fake. It's boring. However, he has done an INCREDIBLE job over the years of outclassing interviewers. That, the time the Pistols played while riding down the River Thames during the celebration of the Silver Jubilee, and of course the album "Never Mind the Bollocks..." are my favorite work of his.
Danzig cracks me up because he's actually just a guido in real life. LOL
