Mail Day / Noise & Trade Parcels
What did you get in the mail today? I receive too much mail, and too little time to listen to it all immediately, so thought this would be a nice change-of-pace.
Think of this as a general thread for sharing noise-adjacent music purchases which have arrived, mail art / postcards, or other eccentricities with a stamp on them.
This week, I received the latest batch of cassettes on Cruel Symphonies, the GRIM "Cheerleader" cassette on Deathbed Tapes, Club Moral's "To All Who Are Interested" LP on Aussat (ordered imported via Skeleton Dust), and a gruesome trade parcel from New Mexico-based noise artist Ineffable Slime. Truly weird listening for the upcoming weekend.

Re: Mail Day / Noise & Trade Parcels
Last week (most recent package) I snagged an odd mix of crud-noise and mid-late 2000's funkmelt/disco-haze tapes, those being:
- Fossils - Zombie Kosmos (Middle James Co.)
- Mot - S/T (Isolated Now Waves)
- Blues Control - Riverboat Styx (Not Not Fun/Crooked Tapes)
- Cruise Family - Orbital Express (Not Not Fun)
- Innercity - 2 (Ikuisuus)

Have been meaning to track this one down. I like Paul's work as MOT a lot and am curious to see what his earlier tapes are like.

Re: Mail Day / Noise & Trade Parcels
I've heard pretty much every known release that PVT has put out (except the split with Vort Ahn), and this one is surprisingly quite a bit different than the others!Tribe Tapes wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 4:02 pmHave been meaning to track this one down. It follows the same structure as his other work (loops + other sounds slowly pulsing to a crescendo), but switches out the rough, shuttering tape/physical sounds for something much more spacey and synthetic. There's damned-near an electronic "beat" on the b-side that ends with some distant, reverbed chanting.
Would highly recommend it if you're into the rest of Paul's work.

Thanks for the info! It looks like the label still has a few available, surprisingly enough. I might pick one up.Vast Field Magnetism wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 3:47 amWould highly recommend it if you're into the rest of Paul's work.

Nigredo and Sol Niger tapes on Putrefactio and Slaughter.
Been looking for copies of these for more than 5 years. Portuguese industrial from the early 90s, recommended if you like TMLHBAC, Metgumbnerbone, Zero Kama.

Re: Mail Day / Noise & Trade Parcels
Favorites from recent arrivals:
BBBlood - Deaf And Capital (Fantasy Knife)
Scald Hymn - Hatfield Isolation Chamber (Narcolepsia)
Scathing - Tunneling Flesh Mound (Narcolepsia)
Vincent Dallas - Manische Hyperaktiviteit (SATATUHATTA)
Vincent Dallas - DOKTERSBEZOEK (Narcolepsia)
Everything here is excellent and I've spun a couple of times now. The Vincent Dallas DOKTERSBEZOEK cassette in particular might be my favorite. The BBBlood is also quite good and I don't think I've seen it mentioned before. Narcolepsia has been very consistent with quality releases lately.

"Mallard Theory" that's amazing man, and pleased he's not just still going, but still evolving.Tribe Tapes wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 3:59 pm Yesterday I received a trade parcel from Henry Rial / Mallard Theory which included the following:

I rarely get mail. last book was by Maurice Scully, last trade Distraxi.
being confined to trades mean my mail always seems poorly assembled!

Mail this week saw cassette parcels from Henry Mallard, Abner Malaty, and Raymond Scott Woolson.
A.D. Eker is a nice choice.

Re: Mail Day / Noise & Trade Parcels
After a relatively slow week, this weekend saw a bounty of mail art / trade parcels being delivered at once from Leslie Singer (Girls On Fire), Marlon, and Kevin Kettle (Cacophony ‘33’). Batches also arrived from Cruel Symphonies and Detachment Programs.
