TERMINAL EVENING #5 | UTOPIA DUST

A collection of loosely interpreted stolen futures, lost possibilities both individual and collective, wrong turns, disappointments, dead ends and the general sense that the future is not what it used to be, though not without the occasional at least vague gesture towards salvage.

Music by Art Bears, Small Cruel Party, Univers Zéro, Tod Dockstader, T.A.G.C., Black Quantum Futurism, Muslimgauze, ERG, Tactile, Laibach, Test Dept., The Legendary Pink Dots, Lemon Kittens, The New Order, Luigi Nono, This Heat, Dave Phillips, The Bricoleur, Contrastate, Einstürzende Neubauten, Ramleh, Ann Sidén, Leif Elggren.

Intended, as always, for immersive listening.

TERMINAL EVENING #8 | LITTLE BIRDS HAVE FAST HEARTS

A selection of works by the late Peter Brötzmann in collaboration with a variety of international luminaries. Needless to say there's no way a figure of this stature can be squeezed into such a small space as this, but I've attempted to represent as much as possible the breadth and diversity of Brötzmann's work over the years, with a focus on relatively recent recordings, as I do very much believe he was only improving with age. Play at maximum volume, naturally.

TERMINAL EVENING #9 | STRAY APPARITIONS

Which in this case can refer to, among other things, fleeting movements in peripheral vision, memories and thoughts which surface (or resurface) unbidden and unwanted, anything that floats through perceptual space without warning (especially when barely sensed), failures of absence marking out the borders of various uncanny valleys and the aimlessly drifting occupants of any number of supposedly empty spaces… To be listened to in total darkness without distractions.

Music by Mauve Sideshow, King Crimson, Kangaroo Kourt, 7 From Life, Premature Ejaculation, Suishou no Fune, Nijiumu, Torn Curtain, Vava Kitora, Andrew Poppy, Anne Gillis, Tony Wakeford + Steven Stapleton, Mark Vernon, a previously unreleased recording by Niellerade Fallibilisthorstar, Banetoriko, Minus Infinity, Kallabris, P16.D4, Fraufraulein, Steeple of Fyre, John Zewizz, .es

TERMINAL EVENING #10 | CHAPTER AND VERSE

As has become abundantly clear in recent times, the human being will wander down a vast number of unlikely, if not often incomprehensible, paths in search of some sort of framework to make reality liveable – artefacts of some of these, and refutations and/or critiques of same, can be found herein. No border is recognized here between so-called ‘legitimate’ and spurious or even fraudulent belief systems – all are symptoms of something else entirely that underlies the entire edifice, and no overt attempt to editorialise has been made. Includes documentary material of diverse origins, real and fake religious and ritual music and sound from around the world, at least one piece of sacred choral music composed by a strict atheist, testimonies from various people as to various alleged facts of existence, and more besides.

Sound and text by Con-Dom, AS11, Fanaticism, Jonathan Briley, Les Archives Sonores Sub Rosa, Crass, Janis Mattox, Akn, Current 93, The Gelugpa Sect, Okkulte Stimmen, - Delta t, Sufi ritual recordings, David Toop, ethnographic recordings from the Amazon, Capricorni Pneumatici, Yahowa 13, Tongues of Light, Shoko Asahara, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, Metgumbnerbone, Zero Kama, Hermann Nitsch/O.M.Theaters, Tibetan Bonpos ritual, Phurpa, Gyuto Monks, Ana-Maria Avram, Augur, György Ligeti, Column One, U.G.Krishnamurti.

TERMINAL EVENING #12 | LIFE DURING WARTIME

You’re looking
straight into my eyes so that I may
dispatch teenagers to the army
and shape their future.
Here I am armed on street corners,
inside tanks, on the roofs,
staring into space, omnipresent, constantly working,
dispossessing slumber from its lids,
causing panic, caprice, unintended murder.
Can you address me
with reason, without it all falling apart,
your adages, myths, and creeds?

— Maya Abu Alhayyat
