Johan, in my mid 30’s, from Stockholm, Sweden.
I’ve been making noise since 2003, but mostly focused on different bands until 2012 when I started JSH.
I run Ominous Recordings that’s been around since 2005.
I also have the projects Gamiani and Rien, and a noiserock band called Catholic.

Re: Introduce yourself
My name is Dries, I live in a small town called Kortrijk in the Kingdom of Belgium, close to the French border and an hour from the North Sea. I've been excited about experimental sounds/noise for a while now. Together with a close ally we were responsible for the "Doe Ne Keer Moeite Noisefest" here in town and for the project "Kindvriendelijk". Apart from that I help where I can with touring acts etc. Now I'm trying to create something under the name Vincent Dallas. cheers!

Stephan, close to mid-forties, northern part of Germany.
I did Noisewerrrrk/NRRRRK from around 2006 to 2009, been out of the noise/pe loop for a couple of years then.

But he was always more concerned with making his guitar sound like a dying horse, more than anything else.

Another Finn here. No noise projects, some research projects. Getting close to 50, have been listening to all kinds of experimental sounds since the '90s.incorruptible corpse wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 3:43 am Like half of this board is from Finland. That's wild.

Yet another Finn, Ilari, 38, Helsinki. No project at the moment, but let's see if that'll change in the future. Likely only for my own amusement though.

Manuel, 37 years old, currently based in Lisboa, Portugal.
I run Narcolepsia label / distro, as well as Black Blood Press for visual art zines / books and Poço Discos for noisecore - even if most active, by far, with the first one.
great to see more spaces for noise / noise related culture discussion outside of social media (thank you, Taylor!), glad to be here.

Re: Introduce yourself
naara (not my real name obviously), 26, non-binary nutcase, currently living in Finland but actually I'm from indigenous land of Sápmi. Quite newbie in noise but I have been doing all kinds of DIY music/sound shit as a musician, technician and gig organizer half of my life. Probably gonna release some noisier stuff once I get some uni work off my hands. Mainly guitar, vox and electronics and sound design for performing arts.
Cool to see so many familiar noisesters here <3

Re: Introduce yourself
Hello, this is Derek Rush. I run Chthonic Streams, which is a label/mailorder/sometime live event concern I've been doing to various degrees since 1997. The label itself doesn't release much pure noise (notable exception is the NoDAPL Noise benefit compilation), but does noise-adjacent genres such as Death Industrial and Power Electronics, or more melodic music that has significant noisy elements, such as my project DREAM INTO DUST. But the main reason for being here is promoting and carrying documents by COMPACTOR, which has been active since late 2011.
Good to see a new noise forum, as they're where COMPACTOR was first pushed into some level of awareness way back when.
