Unfortunately, it's not entirely unusual in the "land of the free and the home of the brave".

I’m very glad to hear that. So I take it you’ll be free from pain now? Assuming recovery goes as planned.

Anyway, I’m pretty frustrated atm. I wanted a looper with two tracks, and half-speed and reverse options. So I got a second hand Ditto 4x. It’s enormous and pretty heavy, but I figured it’d be worth the real estate. Only, less than a week later the effects stopped working. So now I’m stuck with a brick that only does a bit more than a regular looper 1/5 of the size. Also, the ”download” section of the TC Electronic site has been down for two days.

I hate gear problems. Especially if it’s some unseen software or firmware problem. My time for noise is limited and I don’t want to spend it troubleshooting gear.

I suddenly have no idea if my promoting my noise was me trying to blow up, or just trying to promote something I really, really believed was a viable form of work. since I have since given up on it, perhaps I should prove I am not just chasing higher social status in some underground music world, mostly on-line, by burning my entire block of flats to the ground. idk.

being aphoristic... if you are forced into playing host for someone, don't be surprised when they turn out to be a parasite.

Still prosessing gig trip from last weekend.
Moonsorrow had a festival in Lyon, France.

We meet at airport at 7am. Our soundtech informs us at 8am that he is still 180km away and will miss the flight. Thought he bought a new plane ticket from Helsinki to Paris and train ticket from Paris to Lyon and made it there almost before us somehow haha.

Charles De Gaulle airport lost all our gear between Paris to Lyon so our show was cancelled after no replacing gear were not found either. Also there started a nice thuderstorm.

3/4 of our flights were at least few hours late and basicly everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

Got the gear when we went back to Lyon airport luckily next day.

I am seriously confused by few things: both airports are international and still it was next to impossible to find people working there who could speak even a little English. Also 20freaking22 and they still use paper and pen to write down luggage numbers, customer infos and so on. Like there is a computer infront of you, wtf are you doing with the paper and pen :D

I read about that on FB. The disappointment and frustration must off the scale. Lots of French fans at least seemed understanding. Hope you can make a separate show happen eventually.

On behalf of the french, sorry about that ! We do have a reputation of being at terrible at foreign languages, and these, at just welcoming foreign people.

Hah thanks and no worries! Been down there few times and going back in few weeks for Hellfest. Usually it has been on the level "basic troubles as anywhere" but this weekend totally suckerpunched me haha!

Currently I am trying to finish a track to send in for consideration for a comp. It is still missing something, but I am not sure exactly what... I am thinking that it might need a sample, so I have been considering a few possibilities. Nothing has turned out so far, though.

Stuck at work. Need to shit. Again (thank you, IBS). Not even clocked in yet. This is going to be another long 10-hr work day. I hate this place.

I'd really like to be home or at rehearsal place making somekind of sounds but I'm working on a huge upcoming event. 10-12hour days and sun is shining on the place whole damn day.
Three more days of this. Couple days of nothing and then running around with a band on festivals. Then back on the work site for few days. Then more festivals in Finland/Spain/France. Then basicly straight back to working at a festival and next big upcoming event.

Gonna have decent tan and sunburns haha!

Heat index might go up to 109F today. I went outside briefly, because I thought I had a package. Turned out it was someone else's. While outside, the humidity was so bad that I was actually choking.
