Re: Now Playing
Been jamming this Hijokaidan reissue lately and hoping for more of these! This is a perfect reissue.
Also finally found a copy of Ascension Edition I recently and been listening to that and Edition II to make sure both editions are the right ones. Edition I is a beautiful 70’s Canadian press and Edition II is a somewhat generic 80’s US pressing.

Just got this in from Audible Violence Tapes, I think there were only four made? Digging it a lot.

Re: Now Playing
No Photos, I am at work
Over the last couple of days, not only noise
*God is War / Misery Engine split cs (Deathbed)
*Kode9 and the Spaceape - Memories of the Future cd (Hyperdub)
*Blackhaine - "And Salford Falls Apart" E.P (HEAD II) - been obsessed with this over the last week or so, bleak English rap over killer soundscapes, read someone saying this is what Sleaford Mods think they sound like, wouldn`t necessarily agree with that but, it gives you an idea.
*Submechanical - "Robot Killing" cd (room:hall)- anyone into God is War should check out Submechanical and his old unit Cloaks, - noisy overdriven machine factory dub.
*Panasonic = "Kulma" cd (Blast first) - an early favourite Pan(a)sonic album

Yeah, it's an excellent set. Ridiculously over-sized packaging, but I copped it locally so no horrendous shipping costs.December Man wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 5:39 pmThis looks sick as hell. Trash Ritual ruled.Vast Field Magnetism wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 5:36 pm Polish_20220116_174443548.jpg
Baptist Skin Communiti - False Start 1992-1999 (2xc60, Trash Ritual, 2007)
Four sidelong tracks culled from four barely-existent tapes from the nineties.
Texan noise supergroup spearheaded by William Cast and featuring Richard Ramirez and all of his BLJ cronies of that era.
Oppressive, long form pieces of crunchy, sizzling static, at times blown-out to a strained, constricting wheeze. A lot of the stuff Ramirez and co. were doing at the time sounds like a nastier, less focused Chop Shop.
The packaging is great. A bigass spray painted box with colour-coordinated spraypainted tapes and inserts for each piece.
Y'know, Trash Ritual gets some shit for having a vague/base-level approach to visuals, but I can spot their tapes from a mile away.
TR was a friggin' excellent label. That Ahlz tape was one of the first noise releases I ever heard.

Lonsai Maïkov - ↂCCXLVI
Weird Eastern Orthodox neo-folk/industrial/??? from France. Has been around since 1988. This specific release is currently only available digitally, I think?

Re: Now Playing
Strong start for a day with classic compilations; Extreme music from Japan (Susan Lawly) and World Record (Alchemy records). I believe that almost everything has been said about these already, so "no need" to dive deeper. Even though I always prefer at least short commentary in now playing lists ;) Merzbow track (Elysia, valley of the metal) in WR is super good! Solid 10 minutes of rumbling, feedback, metal junk, electronics and lot of going on with good flow. This track pops out everytime!
Niku-Zidousha's untitled track in Extreme Music is propably my favourite from that compilation. Not extremely harsh, but more goofy and fun electronic sounds with crazy vocals. Anyone have any further info about this project? Only couple releases listed in discogs.

Cannibal Ritual - La Montagna Del Dio Cannibale
Single sided C-60 with one long HNW track. There is structure and pumping and you can make out traces of some source-material. Not his best material.
Cannibal Ritual - Brutal Abortion/Fetus Slaughter
Released shortly before (or after or at the same time, I cannot remember) as "La Montagna...". Same kind of C60, this time with two tracks on a- and one long track on b-side. Enjoyed it a lot more than "La Montagna...". Static, monolithic HNW with little to no variation throughout. Nice textures and a little bit of structure. Again, there are some hints of the source-loops.

Re: Now Playing
Masonnas track on this comp was the very first harsh noise piece I ever heard back when I was like 14! A true classic for sure.
Just cracked open Sissy Spacek's Radio Format box set. Gonna go through it as I reorganize our crib, perfect stuff for that. Sounds of cars crashing, glass shattering, all that fits in the mood where I just wan't to throw everything down the balcony and in the bin.
Re: Now Playing
I agree, it is an outstanding record. Also nice to hear this side of the project again after some more or less straightforward harsh noise releases, which have obviously been great too. Some sparingly used vomiting/gagging sounds again on this one towards the end of the title track. Beautiful sleeve as well, but my copy also arrived with a crushed corner unfortunately.New Forces wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:38 pm Sewer Election – Skärvor Av (Second Sleep) LP
This is incredible. One of Dan’s best efforts. Can’t stop playing it. Wish the jacket hadn’t gotten destroyed in shipping. Europe needs better mailers, that’s a chronic problem across multiple countries. Flimsy thin cardboard. Sorry, had to say it.

Oscillating Innards - Nadir Emergence
I’ve had to drive back to my hometown a few times recently, and this had many listens on those trips, another one just now. One of my absolute favourites. Ticks all the boxes for me, blisteringly harsh at times, vulnerable and fragile at others, beautiful loops emerging from and disappearing beneath the murk, and vocals that really make an impact when they kick in. Noise that works in vocals without necessarily sounding like PE is one of the best things in the world for me. I’m yet to find something that hits me in exactly the same way this does. If anyone has any comparable records they love, I’d welcome the recommendations!

I can only second this. I have been playing it all night. I've only heard good about it but im still impressed. Mine was undamaged when I picked it up today.

This remains one of my favorite noise releases of all time! I would also be very interested in hearing other releases that hit the same spot as this one.Knifedoutofexistence wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 5:31 pm Oscillating Innards - Nadir Emergence

Re: Now Playing
Arsedestroyer/Gore Beyond Necropsy/Nikudorei 3 was split 12” “Triple Shock Freak Show!”
GBN are the real standout here for me. Nikudorei are so fucking good. I would love to see their 7” and tape material collected somehow. I have a smattering of 7”s, CDs and records from all bands but there’s so much unheard material that didn’t get much circulation and all their stuff fetches such absurd prices on the second hand market.
Just trying to imagine how stoked I’d be to see Relapse reissue “Noise-a-go-go” with an extra disc or two of collected material.

Been listening to this LP a lot lately. Posting a bandcamp link because I'm away from my record collection for a bit.

Pretty certain this is just John from Slogun under the veil of anonymity. I'd be shocked if it wasn't, because everything about the delivery is pretty spot on. Excellent Self Abuse style filthy electronics that doesn't revel in provocative tedium for its own sake. This Doesn't Stop Until Your Dead being a particular highlight.

Äsping - Uthark
New from Cloister. Not a "noise tape", sounds more like Wolf Eyes with a string quartet covering György Ligeti featuring Barbara Hannigan or Diamanda on vocals.
Really incredible tape, will appeal to those with an appreciation for modern classical and pagan stuff. I wish it was longer.
