Re: Now Playing
Ramleh-Homeless at least once a day all this week. This morning is no exception. Love the whole thing, but the two closing tracks (Kansas City Bomber and Utopia Dust) are just fucking perfect.

Drakengard OST
An old PS2 video game. Never played it but I stumbled upon some footage and the music was just absurdly anxiety inducing I was curious. Chopped up classical music samples. Strings grinding and horns blaring. Repetitive and minimalstic. I love it !

Merzbow - Merzbeat
Loved this when it came out, love this today.
The Moon Lays Hidden... - A New Soldier Follows The Path of A New King & Amara Tanta Tyri
Just the best....(thanx House of Tudor for the tape boots)
Mallard Theory - Muscovy Supremacy
Rock solid noise as always; bubbling and strange, Aldridge side is awesome.
Tantric Death - Hatemonger
Great stuff - very old school industrial/noise vibe, has a "thickness" you don't always hear in newer stuff.
Death Squad - Theological Genocide
Thanks to MK9 for the handsome new edition, really a standout PE record that I haven't sat with for a long time.
Graveyard Crows - Recycled Tape
great material, strange and eerie stuff- thanks to Mr Mallard for the tip - I'd love to track down the Oak Trio tape
*Drakengard OST RULES!

Is it okay to post with pictures?
No noise but traditional Serbian hymns playing right now.

Re: Now Playing
Not much noise over the last few days.
Mobb Deep - "Hell on Earth"
Scorn - "Gyral"
Griselda - "WWCD"
Gang Starr - "Hard to Earn"
Moodie Black - "Sana Sana"
Spectre - "Second Coming"
Sensational - "Loaded with Power"
bought the new Lettera 22 reissue on Phage tapes, waiting to be in the right mood for it. I am sure it`s great.
Also, the latest "Weird Rap" podcast, features an interview with Billy Woods.
Highly recommend this podcast, just for Kool Keith`s horoscopes alone.

SPRING OF LIFE - Brown Bed C30 (White Centipede Noise, 2022)
Full on tape-and-rubbish carnage from the start here. I think of names like Evil Moisture, Prick Decay, HÖH, Spoils And Relics etc, but with an extra bucket of dirt in the machinery. Great sounds, plenty of action, but I would have wanted a direction, a sense of moving from somewhere to something, or the other way around. Flip the tape and that's just what I get. A slow and patient fermentation, reins held tighter, fewer sounds, more air, and a bent and crooked narrative of sorts. The imps and devils inhabiting the wires are allowed to crawl out in a pace of their own, rather than being smoked out in a rush. Promising stuff! I hope to hear more in the vein of side B in the future. That said, if I just want to fill up the room with nasty audio, which I often do, the whole tape works perfectly. Also, bonus points for the intricate million-panelled j-card: the goody/eerie visuals on the rough brown paper really matches the sounds.

Finally bought a portable CD player so I could start making my way though all the CADRE CD's I'd purchased since 2020. Standouts so far have been Body Carve, Shanked, and Stroker.

Wince – Rehearsal (March 11, 2022 - Junkersdorf, Germany)
On this rehearsal set for the Crude Transmissions festival Wince concentrates on the use of hissing white / static noise and obliterating his source sounds via overblown distortion to a point the sound completely breaks up, intermittently creating almost a rhythmic element to the mix. The opening and closing of the flood gates of noise lets the waves wash over the listener to a kind of a soothing effect. At some points loops of more organic sounds emerge and short bursts of feedback push through only to be buried in the hiss again. I can only imagine how this may have sounded through a big PA.

COST night!
KOS (Angst)
Outside On The Dragon (New Forces)
Fourth Utterance (Dead Gods)
Highway Walker (Dead Gods)
Each one is a heavy hitter, but i think Highway Walker and KOS are my favorites. EDIT: B-Side on Fourth Utterance is incredibly good, too!
I'd love to listen to "Lost German Shepherd 503", unfortunately Prose Nagge titles are not so easy to find...

Hal Hutchinson – self-titled C30 (2022, Der Bünker)
Each track builds on a single loop which is more or less manipulated and mangled during the course of the track via means of tape manipulation, overdrive/distortion, delay and reverb. Some are super simple and rotten sounding, others bordering even on melodic / ambient-y sound, and each carrying a definite rhythmic element. Minimalist stuff, no overdubs or layered elements.

First real experience with Sewer Election. Very much appreciate the little write up inside too. This was randomly sitting new at my favourite shop for a pretty decent price so I couldn’t pass it up!

Re: Now Playing
The new shit. Spring of Life "Brown Bed" has gotten multiple spins recently, broken sputtering and choking sounds done with the most satisfying intentions. A better descriptive review above even if I think it's a little overly critical. Everyone should check this out.
Cyezz Afxzs is one of my new favorite artists as each tape sounds like nothing else. Flickering Horse works more in the tape music, drone, and deconstructive musical elements realm. Ernst may be one of my favorite tapes this year and has a foot both in the harsh noise past and future without straying too far outside the realm of pure oddity?! A complex and unique building of layers and subtle detail in the blanket of sounds.
