Collages/Visual Art
Since it was the only thread I regularly followed on Special Interests, I thought it would also be relevant here.

Re: Collages/Visual Art
The new Analogue Paper Dreams book from Kate Rissiek (Rusalka) is essential. Always enjoyed her work that has made it out there such as The Rita - Dark Angled Eyebrow 7" and the individual collages for the Rusalka LP art edition, for example, plus her sculpture collages have always been very intriguing. It's been great to flip through and see much more, with many pieces never before seen.

Here are some random picks from over the years. Some of these have been used for various albums and projects

But he was always more concerned with making his guitar sound like a dying horse, more than anything else.

I miss putting on shows, and making posters for them!
Second poster is a work by Hermann Nitsch.
I remember Sam wanted The Rita to be listed next to Claudette Colbert's face on the third poster. I did not have time to change it. Sorry, Sam

Re: Collages/Visual Art
Had a bout of motivation/inspiration to give collage work a go a couple years ago. I only ended up with a few that I was satisfied with before having to stop due to wrist issues that I was battling at the time. Since then I haven't had the time or dedicated interest to pick it back up again.

Just a few I managed to find, hopefully I'll be inspired to make a small art zine or something like that.

Re: Collages/Visual Art
Recently my collage art has been mostly video, these are from few years back, I made 5 shows with different videos and different approach, later fixed them together for youtube but I sometimes use them separately too for live shows or in exhibitions as their own.

Re: Collages/Visual Art
thanks! religion and it's criticism isn't the most unique of subjects in this sort of "scene" but i try to put a personal twist on it. amount of detail could be explained by almost a hindering amount of perfectionism paired with neurodivergent hyperfocus....Cruelsymphonies wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 12:58 pmI love these especially the religious ones. Super high detail. I'll give ya a follow.
so that this won't become a mostly dead self-promo topic, and because of curiosity and potential inspiration as well, i'd love to hear about fellow collagemakers' workflow, techniques, and general thought process of creating, whatever you feel like sharing :)
perhaps an interesting starting point could be subject matter, are there some recurring themes in your work? how/where do you source your image material, do you use any other forms of manipulation besides ye olde cut'n'paste?
