Are previous episodes there? Not familiar with that one, but it looks like it should be automatically uploaded to through the hosting platform I use.

From what I can tell, everything else is there. I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to see if that would help and it did not.

This is a crosspost, but I hope some of you will recognize the sincerity of my words and take action:

We are wrapping up the first full year of WCN Podcast, currently tallying 33 podcast episodes and 12 WCN TV episodes so far in 2022. Being able to amplify the voices of the human beings behind the noise is a great joy for me, and I am honored to see the show discussed and praised so widely on a regular basis. I intend on carrying on in full force into next year, but that is entirely contingent on the support I get from this small and dedicated scene that I am doing my best to serve with this project. So, if you are a viewer or listener of the podcast, have had your project or label shouted out on it, or simply value its existence as a platform for disseminating noise culture, I ask that you support it via Patreon. Without mutual support, this scene ceases to exist, so please take the step to support White Centipede Noise Podcast and ensure its existence.

Excited to listen to this. Victoria was recently on the Lydia Lunch podcast and Lydia makes it a roughy listen.

Really great to see both of those episodes.

Some of the points made in the Forced Participation video are exemplified by forum activities (referencing here and SI, but surely it's the same for any kind of forum): There are a lot of lurkers that you don't even realize are there, waiting for someone to start a topic to contribute to before they come out of the woodwork (I'm very guilty of this myself). It's not like people don't have anything to say - it's in fact the opposite and a lot of good discussion can start happening once a new thread pops up. If the self-conscious angle is what is holding some people back I think it's a good time to be a little looser. There is so much potential for conversation literally right at our fingertips with these keyboards.

i have seen and heard some great reactions to noise, including some unforgettable ones from various pub/venue owners. smell and quim at the royal park in leeds was a good one and (not necessarily noise) costes also in leeds reaction was hilarious, 'your all banned from this venue you fucking sick freaks'! one landlord of a venue would just cut the power to the room if the performance went one minute over the allotted time or if his wife did not like music, which was most of the time. prurient asking to borrow the venue's speakers having just blown the original sound system within the first few minutes way back in 2005 also made me chuckle, the look on the p.a. owners face...haha. ceramic hobs blew the p.a. at the same venue with an over amplified vacuum cleaner.

I was on the bus awhile back on my way to a show with The Rita, TabIn/TabOut and some kids were talking about it behind me. I casually said "oh the venue is just at this spot, it's sort of hidden" as they didn't seem to know where it was at all (small DIY punk venue in town). Anyway they said they'd never been to a noise show before, and they asked if it was similar to Norma Jean or one of those type of bands, and I just said "Not at all, just go and see if you dig it". They were at the venue for probably 5 minutes into the first opening act and bounced. Similar happened to some indie rock folks who came to NoiseFest in Victoria aeons ago, I think they were expecting something wildly different and again barely lasted a few minutes. Kind of cool to see them taking the chance but ultimately hilarious when it's too much or not enough?

Ha! travelled hours and hours to get to this and showed up just after the plug got pulled. Formative experience.

The other chat about the Norma Jean kids reminds me I was once playing a noise gig in Bristol that had 2 venues. This comedically appalling tough boy UK Hardcore band TRC were booked in the bigger room the same night as us, much to the delight of myself and Mr. Clive Henry who were big 'fans' of their big hit of the time Define Cocky Have a look at the video if you've not had the pleasure, and imagine steady streams of the kind of people who'd go to watch them accidentally walking into our gig throughout the evening. Was kind of beautiful to strike looks of disgust and horror onto the faces of strong young boys who probably spent the entire evening kicking each other in the head in the other room.

That said, I'm generally not into weirding people out with music that they don't want to see, which is what makes it so nice that I've actually seen way more instances of people being interested and engaged when stumbling into noise. One Territorial Gobbing show in Brighton was particularly notable for this. We had a guy pay into the gig just because he'd seen 'DaDa' written on the poster in the street and was curious, tonnes of people from the bar upstairs who just wanted to have a look and by the end we about doubled the attendance because of visitors like this. There was a line of people snaking out of the room trying to catch a glimpse of what he was doing and he even sold a few cassettes to total strangers who were just there to drink. Not bad at all.

OUT NOW: Sam Risser of JUTE on WCN Podcast!

JUTE is a newer harsh noise project from Canada, intriguing die-hards with his rugged yet futuristic sound and fresh attitude, with just a handful of releases under his belt. We had a great conversation about his harsh work, and the techno-political themes that compel him, which spilled over into all sorts of adjacent topics.

In the EXT. video on the Patreon, Sam gets into some pretty interesting insider info about the global tape supply from his time working for Canada's biggest cassette tape supplier. There is also an exclusive 20 minute JUTE / BLUE SUNSHINE Video EP available for the Maniac's Circle.

Nice talk with Sam/Jute. CONTEMPT is a ripper! Admire his willingness to not flood the market in lieu of making sure his recordings are where they need to be first. And auditioning them in different ways and on different devices, which everyone should do regardless of musical genre.

I've had a really hard time listening to podcasts since I switched jobs, when I was commuting 2+ hours a day I listened to every one and now when I am in the car I usually have another person with me, but I definitely want to hear the New Forces and Jute ones. I have them qued up but might take some time to get to them.
