Free content is always nice, of course. But the time and money you put in to do this, and the content itself, probably aint that far from doing a decent paper zine, which I'm sure noone expects to get for free. You just do it in video form. Happy to contribute as long as I can afford it

Without wanting to dive into the discussion too much, I will second the above post. I don't know if I will always be able to contribute, or contribute the same amount, but if I cannot, it is not for lack of enthusiasm for the project.

While getting to watch the afterblast/follow-up interviews and reviews, general rambling and musings about noise was ultimately the deciding factor in subscribing, having access to serious, longform, FREE interviews about "noise" from a fairly wide variety of people (label owners, artists, older, established names, newer ones) is what I really don't want to lose out on here.

The podcast is very niche, and limited market appeal is something of a given. It is not something I want to take for granted in a desert of ironic influncer/meme nonsese in the vein of "I trolled 'the scene' by blowing into a microphone and putting it on Bandcamp" dude, what's-his-name and incredibly trite jokes about "sick bass drops" or asking what key a track is in in the comments sections of videos.

I have to agree, the paywall makes sense. It's a lot of audiovisual work being done by WCN, and nothing on earth is free.
I'll always support the podcast as long as I have the money to do so because I find it essential and I want it to keep going.

Killer episode. Full respect to Greg. The man is no bullshit. If anyone is looking for AFA recs I'd highly recommend his side of the Texas 3LP comp as well as that Chaos is a System tape on No Rent that he mentioned. Just two fine examples of the project's harsh noise supremacy.

I'm watching this right now, most of the way through it. Really enjoyable and interesting conversation.

Getting off track of the main video, but watching it has got me thinking about how I have secretly hoped for a double interview with the "two noiseheads". But I know a Stimbox interview isn't happening. Still, an interview with Xome would be awesome if he's open to the idea. I know Bob's not very active or present outside of maybe some occasional live shows regionally these days, but if he's willing, I'd love to hear him talk about the history and possible future of Xome, Audible Disease, Negatron, NoiseFX (I spent hours listening to pedal demos on there as a broke high school student!), the Harshnoise MP3.com label, etc.

Really digging this one. Very engaging re: paying artists/running a label/etc. It's a hard line to ride because of how much things cost (shipping, paying for mastering, paying for artwork). I'm only a youngster in the world of label running but it's awesome to see people be passionate about their ethos. Really hope it inspires folks, it definitely has made me think certain aspects over.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. I didn't even know about it, despite being tangentially aware of the series. I need to get on the noisextra boat already. I guess it's just down to my particular/peculiar media consumption habits at work and at home, but that series has always eluded me somehow.

I am feeling restless and have been putting off going to bed, so I started watching this last one again. I got so distracted with my Xome tangent before that I forgot to mention that my mom bought me that Deadly Orifice 7" off of Discogs for Christmas one year! She has always stressed and made a bit of a to-do out of Christmas and buying presents, so I made her an account on Discogs and filled her wantlist with a variety of items from my own and told her to surprise me. I think the name DEADLY ORIFICE must've stuck out to her, haha.

I also checked out that Xome interview this morning. I looked on Gear Bug, and it shows that I have even more reviews than Greh! I probably shouldn't boast about that, but it's kind of funny all the same. QUANTITY > QUALITY!
