Grindcore is probably my favorite "aggressive" music genre. What acts are you into and which good ones have you recently discovered? Favorite shows? Here are some recommendations from myself.
Btw please keep NSFW artwork spoilered or just link to it and put an "NSFW" warning... for those of you who are unaware (I'm thinking some of you who might not be familiar with English "internet speak", that means "NOT SAFE FOR WORK". Sexual and very graphic, gory content.)
gorenoise (Very NSFW artwork for most bands/projects. It's goregrind meets harsh noise and sometimes power electronics):
noisecore (usually "noise-grind", but sometimes something... else...):
Anal Cunt (duh, you know them)
Backwoods Butcher Recordings (Northern KY, run by Doug who is ex-Hellnation, Brody's Militia, etc - lots of NSFW artwork) https://backwoodsbutcher.bandcamp.com
Be sure to check out his Erectile Dementia project, which has heavily NSFW artwork
Sissy Spacek (Los Angeles, CA, USA)
You know them... and their noise stuff often falls on the "noisecore" part of the spectrum, too...
Virhe is best new finnish power violence whatever grind/hardcore. Death Basket is also recommended, check out WHAT'S THE POINT label if interested in this kind of stuff. https://whatsthepointrecords.bandcamp.com/

Thanks brah! ROMUTUS also fucking rules, they've been a huge influence for Death Basket and for me in general.

Noxious Threat is a noisecore/-grind band that has prolly gone under the radar for most. I found these guys through their split 7" with Agathocles. Manic, lo-fi, brutal, absolutely golden stuff.
For fans of Last Days Of Humanity style goregrind I recommended russian duo HYDROCELE. Loud snare and toilet vocals.
Here's a new EP, about 90 seconds long. https://youtu.be/xmfSL1mtseo
The cover is SFW but don't Google the band name without adding "grindcore" or sth....
Casing. Great PV/grind project from London. Started as a solo recording project but they have played a few shows as 3 piece recently (all of which I have unfortunately missed). Very much in The Endless Blockade/Column Of Heaven world, loads of noise, clear metal influences. It’s just bass, so brings to mind Water Torture too. Anthems Of The Undesirable put the tape of this out recently, as well as the most grind sounding Fleshlicker tape, worth picking both up if there’s still copies.
I might appreciate grind now more than I ever did before, but I still don't listen to it a hell of a lot.
Internal Rot - Grieving Birth LP and Miasmatic Necrosis - Apex Profane LP are recent highlights. Both got some decent hype and it's well-deserved.
Always cycling back through the heavy-hitters of mid-late 00s pv (Blockade, Hatred Surge, Iron Lung) and the ultimate entities that were Gas Chamber and Running for Cover.
Albuquerque has always had a pretty awesome grind scene; Noisear, Laughing Dog, Word Salad, Logical Nonsense....more local/less popular acts include Ronoso, Fando, etc. The "Albuquerque Shitcore Vol 1" 7" is a good document of the early 90s scene here. Lately Power Toke have been fucking destroying live. Closer to Dystopia, but with these great grind parts. Their shows have been pretty psycho, just like 10 blunts rotating around the audience while tweakers go apeshit in the pit haha. https://wisegrindsrecords.com/album/slabs-of-pain
Seeing Con Artist not long ago at one of the few shows during the pandemic was a real treat. Due to the Sixbrew crew, whenever they're involved with something it's a thumbs up https://conartist.bandcamp.com/album/subservient

lol that was hilariously short. I wonder if they have a bandcamp page and if so, whether it'll get hit by sanctions or not, lol
They tag themselves as "Geometric Noise/Mathematical Chaos", which is fitting. Progressive, complex, but still really aggressive and dark. Great lyrics and visuals as well.
I'd start from "Harm Remissions" or "Sleeper Vessels" and work my way through the rest.
I've always been more into powerviolence, sludge and crust bands but every now and then I come across some grindcore bands which stick with me. Here are 2 powerviolence bands and a local crust/grindcore band which I listen to regularly.
GRAF
Graf is a Dutch powerviolence band which was formed right before the pandemic and features members of Gewoon Fuckin Raggen (G.F.R.), Invunche and Pressure Pact. There are no guitars to be found here.. just bass, samples, vocals and drums.
I booked them twice during the last 2 years but both shows were canceled due to covid restrictions.
Witch Cult is one of my favourite powerviolence bands from the UK, sadly they aren't active anymore. It featured Dean (Knifedoutofexistence & Playworker) on vocals which I only found out about a few years ago.
Gas Chamber are so damn good and the whole "controversy" around their name was so psychotically stupid. Very stoked to have seen them in Seattle 2x for Iron Lung related shows. Advice from Yama is prob my fav release of theirs. The public Humiliation 2 record is great too, Black Iron Prison are great. https://ironprisonblack.bandcamp.com/album/demo-tape

Really kicking myself for not getting a plane ticket and flying out for that Seattle event. I did see them in Montreal and Buffalo, at least.
Black Iron Prison is great, glad they're back in action. Public Humiliation II is one for the books, incredible release.
I'll throw in a plug for my pal Andy's label Mortville - he goes deep, he puts out a lot of stuff, and pretty sure it's all free / pay what you like downloads on BC.
I forgot about that Gas Chamber name controversy. Agreed that that was absurd. And I'm saying that as someone with some more progressive views on things. So take that fwiw. Anyhow, I'll shut up about politics. My local bar has three rules: 1) don't talk about religion, 2) don't talk about politics, and 3) don't talk about Star Wars. The last of those has resulted in the worst arguments I've ever seen there, hahaha!!
Anyhow, Water Torture is back(!!!). Not sure if they have ex-members of GxCx now, though. Stimulant is still active unsure who's in it now. Hit up discogs to find out - I just woke up after getting three hours of sleep, hah. Btw I think the split LP between WxTx and Stimultant has the best WxTx material thus far. Never really got into GxCx for whatever reason. Not sure why.
I used to enjoy noisecore a lot in the period 2005-2010 but I feel that genre is getting out of breath.
There are still bands I follow such as sedem minut strachu (chatting about Kaz ...), and those on which Tipacti is drumming (atrofia cerebral, audicion irritable, ... countless others).
I used to play in ADOLF SHITTER too, but the band is on a hiatus since 2016.
also, being French I can't miss recommending you VULGAR NAUSEA !
