Noise youtube

Post by adult human »

First things first - NOT VIDEOS OF COOL NOISE THINGS. I LOVE THOSE HIJOKAIDAN VIDEOS TOO BUT THIS ISN'T WHAT THE THREAD IS ABOUT

I do a lot of my listening on headphones at work which means a lot of album uploads on youtube. Increasingly it's possible to find a load of shit that one used to only be able to wonder about, ready to listen to with a click. I think for a load of ultra limited stuff with no chance of coming out again its a decent arrangement, particularly given its just fan obsession that causes people to do these things.

So any recommendations for good channels/playlists to listen to such things? Here's some I enjoy:

https://www.youtube.com/@bluespectrumtapes - good for a lot of psychedelic/basement style 00's era tape rips.

https://www.youtube.com/@fullnoise-albums8303/videos - does what it says in the title! not been updated in years but a bit range of all kinds of stuff. Some rare, some just handy to have available online for easy listening.

https://www.youtube.com/@RareNoiseUploads/videos - kind of annoying as it's individual tracks and not full albums BUT there are some handy playlists in there. Lots of stuff you may recall from 00's era noiseboard days - not a lot of it great! but some of it so much better than you'd think

https://www.youtube.com/@MorsMea and https://www.youtube.com/@MeaMors - huge archive of all kinds of super obscure tape rips from 80s onward. Rarely much I know what to expect from in hearing it but just an enormous catalogue of undefined, wild west underground tape network stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... GW8foZFVHe - excellent playlist of RRRecycled tape rips! I hope more of these get added

https://www.youtube.com/@harshnoisechannel7090/videos - might be one of the best places for overall flat out harsh noise uploads of a wide variety. You'll find some more recently released stuff on here which perhaps isn't the best practice however...any port in a storm.

https://www.youtube.com/@ab_joy/videos - all kinds of shit I've never heard of but often the place that has something hyper specific and otherwise hard to hear when I'm looking for it. Tends more toward the more out, weird, avant garde side of things which is fine by me.

Thanks a lot for all the links you shared, I also do most of my listening at work with headphones and I use YouTube, but I just know these two channels:

https://www.youtube.com/@ActiveAbuse/ - most of the stuff is PE and Industrial, but also some HN, there are even some noisecore in there.

https://www.youtube.com/@emergentbehavior286 - it seems mostly all HN, it was pretty active it seems they stopped.

Honorable mention: https://www.youtube.com/@RainwaterEnema - The channel came to my attention when they uploaded the latest Interracial Sex double tape I released, they have some HN, PE, Industrial, but they also have other different genres that range from techno, ambient, and other weird stuff.

Great channel with old industrial, sound art and experimental greatness. Not that many new uploads as of late, but what is already there is all good and worth revisiting.

Stewart Skinner’s one is excellent:

I’ve found some really good stuff on here, especially the Pest Archive tape:

https://youtube.com/@berdellasfist3871

This is good:

https://youtube.com/@bonsgats

This is more improvised music/sound art stuff I gather, but has a lot of really weird, cool music:

https://youtube.com/@celestialrailroad

I’m not including label ones, but Kyle Flanagan has all of his purely psychedelic tapes on his channel:

https://youtube.com/@Vivavag

Mr. Schwarz definitely instrumental in discovering cool stuff for me early on:

This one posts good noise stuff, along with other random content - fun mix!

Tribe tapes is excepted from label YouTube channels because they post mostly other stuff:

https://youtube.com/@TribeTapes

Lastly, this channel has all sorts of weird stuff, from noise to fake New Age led zeppelin albums:

Here's my channel. I started it originally in 2010 or 2011 as part of my old blog svn-okklt, for little known raw black metal projects, but it became focused on noise by 2012 or so. It's just a place where I mostly upload selections of one or two tracks from personal tape and CD rips, and etc.
What Abraham found easiest, I would have found hard, namely to be joyful again with Isaac

Herukrat, Junta Cadre, Commuter.

I second Active Abuse. He uploads stuff all the time, and has some very hard to find things if you dig for them.
