Abisma – Disciples Of The Black Ram LP

Another Greatly inspired new horde from Chile, the land of the Greats! I was heavily surprised that, despite the fact that they had already recorded a fantastic full-length album, Abisma was still unsigned within the ever crowded scene of faceless labels. I had already heard their impressive MCD released by non other than El Abismo records, an excellent underground label held by Rodrigo Hellavenger, a key figure in the Chilean underground. What you can discover behind the amazing Sounas artwork is an obviously Greek inspired hellish album. But despite the appearances, Abisma isn’t just another Rotting Christ/Varathron clones as so many have spawned these last years. I would compare Abisma more to the rarely imitated Zemial and Bewitched from Chile, so a very original and inspired sort of Black Metal. A real breath of Pestilence in this clean and safe sex scene.
