Interracial Sex returns to New Forces with another 60 minutes of elite power electronics. An in-depth exploration of racial desegregation in American cities, these songs draw inspiration from historical research and the artist’s own experiences with public education. Racist violence, state-intervention, and the sexually charged fears of miscegenation are woven into brutalizing slabs of heavy electronics. This is Interracial Sex at its most crude and powerful, as old tube amplifiers are smashed into the floor to create deranged bursts of noise, and vocal tracks recorded during periods of intense mania pierce the walls of sound. Samples from old newsreels provide context and a window into the hate and anger that drove bitter conflicts over schooling in the United States. A true expression of American power electronics in both form and content.
