Jasnovidec & Tarnovski – s/t (2024, mc / digital);During hot and mid pandemic August 2021, duo of Daniel Jakeš and Michael Nechvátal, know under their stage moniker of Jasnovidec, went to Pardubice for artist residency at notorious location of Divadlo 29 (Theater 29), key Czech location for worldwide avant garde experimental music and theater. During four long days and nights, the duo went onto several intense recording sessions, on which both Jakeš and Nechvátal played solely just their modular synths setups. On a few of the occasions they were joined by local electronic music artist Tarnovski. This newly published recording is the document of those sessions.;Jasnovidec is known for their stark and often dystopian soundscapes, which derives both from deep history of experimental electronic music and no fucks given noise intensity, that may take listener by surprise, especially during their live sets. In the July 2023 issue of The Wire, Byron Coley described their music as “slow motion mating ritual of earthmovers”. Healthy discography of Jasnovidec includes several audio cassettes and small vinyl formats issued both by the duo or Stoned to Death label.;Tarnovski is a key figure of Czech electronic avant garde and heralded by many as an artist with the most idiosyncratic sound around. He left his deep signature on recordings by collaborative projects such as Gurun Gurun (open electronic music soundscape collective), Wabi Experience (extremely deconstructed country music) or Metal (sound objects powered trio) and the list of his works and many collaborations could just go on and on.;It’s with no surprise that the collaboration of Jasnovidec and Tarnovski comes out as very ideal as they are both completing the missing elements of each other’s music. While Tarnovski is not known for bleak and dark starkness, Jasnovidec barely comes around as a playful experiment. Put these two together and the mixture of Jasnovidec’s corridor vision mixed with Tarnovski’s freak gamer pace is your ideal alternative score to 70’s post soviet sci-fi, be it Ikarie XB-1, Solaris or Dead Mountaineer Hotel, i guarantee that it will be perfect fit.;This self-titled recording comes out with unique artwork by Jan Burián. Some elements of the music beares few touches by Tomáš Federsel, who also mixed the record and co-mastered it with Ondřej Ježek (both are members of forementioned Gurun Gurun). Album is released on tape and digital by Stoned to Death in November 2024.
