An illusion of a snake eating its own tail, the sounds on “Constriction” seem to be choking on themselves, never breaking free. For 60 minutes you are invited to be an aural voyeur, peering in at its double-layered, voltage crunch. Glacial and deceptively monotonous, the sound plane is actually moving along and changing with the nuance only a master of sound design can finesse. Overdubs create an allusion that the loop is choking on itself, but its not quite. Inspired by a fire amidst the urban landscape of Chicago.
