Label Description: Live extended recording sessions and discussion by VIBRAPHENOMENOLOGY and THE RITA has created 2 discs worth of audio material for Phage Tapes that deeply analyzes the idea of the multitudes of breaking / cracking waves. During the sessions, the conversation was directed by contemporary shipwreck survivor stories and the resulting obsession that ensued as the survivor(s) coped with the same broken patterns of ocean wave form scenery day after day. Aspects of powerful non-linear ocean waves that cause the breakage and submersion of boats directly causes and translates into the nearly identical patterns of the extensively cracked boat hulls. With the use of a Soma Lyra-8 synth, a Soma Ether wideband receiver, vintage radio, and various gated fuzz effects, VIBRAPHENOMENOLOGY and THE RITA were able to effectively take an extended deep dive into the themes and varying movements of the breaking sound.;Related Notes;The Non-Linear Wave (cracks);“Deep-water wave groups have been known to be unstable and become rogue, causing unsuspecting boats to tip over.
